@Happy_Killbot I read the article and I watched the presser. You should read the article, it affects active duty and US civilians on military installations and US embassies. John McCain would not have been considered a natural born citizen under this new procedure.

@azzow2 Those too, but this would apply to all children born overseas whether both parents are US citizens or not. They were explict that it would apply to both military and civilians and that all children would have to go through the naturalization process. ie John McCain would have been considered a naturalized citizen versus a natural born citizen. I'm sure more will come out in the next few days as congressional offices review the actual changes.

It means among other things that US embassies and US installations overseas are no longer considered sovergn US territory, that children born will have to undergo naturalization processes vesus simply signing a loyalty oath on their 18th birthday. The whole executive order/administrative procedure is going to be subjected to both court challenges and congressional oversight. Since international law recognizes embassies as sovergn territory, he may well have overstepted what he is constitutionally allowed to do under the 14th amendment.

glennlab replies on Aug 25, 2019:
@TheGreatShadow Plowshare was a US Atomic Energy Commission study begun in 1961 to study the effects of peacetime possible uses orf atomic, nuclear and thermonuclear devices,. At least 23 weapons were detonated in the studies. The results were evaluated by non commissionscientist and academics to provide the conclusions. The rules were that nothing was off the table or too far out not to be considered. The hurricane idea was discounted based on using available data without having to test it. As was the vocanic mining proposal. This idea would not have been so proposterous if it had not been debunked over 50 years ago.

You will see some caterpillars on the purple, but no where near as many if some neighbor within a mile or two has the blue ones. My first plants went in in late Aug/early Sept, (12 years ago) so there is still time to plant this year.

I have plenty in my yard in SE Arizona. 2 different types. They grow on my passionflower vine.
glennlab replies on Aug 19, 2019:
Mine have been decimated by the repeated mosquito sprayings, normally this time of year I would have 20-50,000 caterpillars on my passion vine. I have been hard pressed to find any caterpillars and only a few mating pairs.
If only this would happen

glennlab replies on Aug 19, 2019:
@RobertMartin 1. The US tried to over throw and actively participated in an open revolution in Ven. We rescued the Dutch in WW II. We cut off all US trade and sanctioned Ven. While Neth is a part or the EU. Neth are a social democracy, while Ven was a Dictitorial socialist state. You obviously have never been a student of world government or socio-politics if you have to ask that question. Ven was not one of the choices I picked.

He has the worst voice possible when mixed with the background music, the series is great, but the narrator needs to change.
glennlab replies on Aug 19, 2019:
@GuyKeith Hs voce by itself is great, but the sound mixers/editors manage to screw it up with the music overlays that drown him out.

well at least one frit. has made it. I've seen a few mating, but it is a bleak year.
tinkercreek comments on Aug 19, 2019:
Holy moly, such beautiful little buggers! I hope a few do make it through this year.
glennlab replies on Aug 19, 2019:
luckily they are a native species and I have quite literally tons of food for them, it just frustrates me to no end with the indescriminate spraying that kills, not just the mosquitoes, but nearly every other flying insect. They are a food source for most of the little critter that make my yard home too, geckos, anoles, and brown scale lizards that I like and the wasps that i don't really like but tolerate. I'm going to be planting fennel for the swallowtails this fall. I broadcast seed it under my shade shrubs,

right now when they only answer 3 questions before posting their first vague question, they stand out like a sore thumb, we will never get scammers to quit trying, so I'm happy when they are dumb. But making them work a little harder might discourage a few.

@WonderWartHog99 that is a short bio, but you did answer the profile questions. lol I had never looked at it before.

People that see things as they are currently and assume that they have always been that way. Standardized spelling only came about in the 1800s with the first American language dictionary published in 1798 and Websters inclusive published in 1806.
glennlab replies on Aug 18, 2019:
@LeighShelton Having negotiated with both Austrailian and Canadian entities, we all use similar languages, but American, Austrailian, Canadian and English are all different enough to require a glossary that includes common words, their spelling in each language, the spelling that will be used in the document as well as the definition.
