What made you smile today?
graceylou comments on Aug 26, 2018:

Weed. For or against? Why? And where? How much? Just kidding. Thoughts on the subject?
graceylou comments on Aug 26, 2018:
No interest in it for recreational or medicinal. It will be legal here nationwide in October. I don't care to try or use it. Everyone else pretty much already does so it's just a matter of the government making money out of it. I don't particularly care if other people use it, as long as they use it responsibly.

graceylou comments on Aug 25, 2018:
I used to be extremely body conscious although I have never been overweight. But having been with men who have been nothing but appreciative of my form reassures me that it’s ok to let go of those insecurities. None of us is perfect and it’s ok to accept yourself and others as unique and to just enjoy those unique selves together. And, I love ALL body types!!!
My Sir/Daddy had play time today. Pictures to com, if he approves.

graceylou comments on Aug 25, 2018:
I had been chatting with another member and thought we were getting along well. Until one day he was not on my following list, all his messages are gone, etc. I searched for his name and it came up and when I tried to see his profile it says he’s not an active member at this time. I can’t imagine a reason for blocking me as we never got into an argument or disagreement. If he needed a break he could’ve told me he would be away for awhile. Who knows. I can’t control what other people do. It was just weird. That’s all.

Do you "dress your age"?
graceylou comments on Aug 25, 2018:
Just to clarify. I don't give the slightest fuck about what other people think or say about how I dress. I don't ever give a rat's ass about what other people think about anything that I do or don't do. If they think I don't dress appropriately, they can shove their opinion up where it don't shine. If I'm not in my casual practical attire, I tend to wear rather bizarre clothing anyhow just because that's what I like. I am a non-conformist. One thing I don't do, however, is dress sloppy when I go out (I may wear comfy grubby clothes at home as I please).
This is a question for women.
graceylou comments on Aug 25, 2018:
Not at all. Sometimes I'm just curious why. I'm not that interesting.
Too unique to be understood or even loved. Does anyone else feel this way?
graceylou comments on Aug 25, 2018:
I find being unique seems to attract people not the opposite (believe me, I'm super weird). The question is more, do I want them as friends? I'm rather anti-social anyway. Unless you want to debate social issues or politics with your partners all your life, may be avoid those subjects that divide people. That tends to be what I do. There are a billion other subjects to talk about.
Anybody feel like fasting makes you more whole?
graceylou comments on Aug 25, 2018:
Nope. I don't ever fast, on purpose. I do the small meals throughout the day. Basically eat whenever my body tells me I need to eat and also what it tells me I need to eat at the time. I eat 100% plant-based, making sure I get balanced nutrition, not cutting out any nutrients (not low carb, low fat, low anything). I don't do diets.

graceylou comments on Aug 24, 2018:
That is my country of birth where I spent the first 12 years of my life. I was also of the ethnic-Chinese minority (hated because we tended to be better educated and wealthier and non-Muslims). There is no religious freedom in a country that requires you (by law) to have a religion and only one of 5 (I don’t know where they get 6 in the article) approved. God forbid you claim to be atheist or agnostic there. The targeting of non-Muslims was the reason my family moved to Canada.

This one...

What does it mean to identify as "spiritual," to an atheist/agnostic?
graceylou comments on Aug 23, 2018:
It puzzles me too. Their definition of "spiritual" must not be the same as mine if they list being atheist or agnostic as well.
Do you like to play outside in the winter?
graceylou comments on Aug 23, 2018:
I'm more of a winter person than a summer person, although I would prefer something in between like spring and fall. Around here, if you aren't out and about in winter, you are simply holed out in your home. It can be winter conditions up to 6 months out of the year (not unusual to get snow in June). It can be drastically cold (a few years ago we reached -58C, and was the second coldest place on the planet next to Siberia). Generally, most of us here live normal active lives even when it's in the -30s C.

What is your favorite way to be woke up?
graceylou comments on Aug 21, 2018:
Hmmmm. I don't think I would say it in a public forum. But my least favourite is to have a cat shove his paw in my mouth to wake me up for cuddles.

They do have mixed almond coconut milk. I usually drink and use almond milk. I might bake with coconut milk. My SO drinks an almond coconut mix. I like the taste of soy milk but can't tolerate it too well. There are other milks out there as well, including pea milk, oat milk, rice milk, cashew milk. Give them all a try. I think we all have different preferences. There is also lactose free dairy milk, but I would never recommend that since I'm vegan, but it's out there.
So I wonder why Satanism isn't more popular ?
graceylou comments on Aug 20, 2018:
Many people aren’t able to see past the label without having preconceived ideas about the figure of Satan and Satanism itself based on Christian doctrine and media portrayals. While I do follow the tenets of atheistic Satanism, I still would prefer not to commit to any religion of any kind. If I were to allow myself to adopt a somewhat structured religion, my views would be most aligned to LaVeyan Satanism.
Are you a dog person or a cat person? (I'm a cat person)
graceylou comments on Aug 20, 2018:
Dog person but I have more cats than dogs (because I rescue cats). But really, I’m more a snake and tarantula person.
Flight or invisibility? If you could choose one, which would it be and why.
graceylou comments on Aug 20, 2018:
Flight because it might come in handy, though I'm afraid of heights. Invisibility, nope. I'm already practically invisible in society.
What's your favorite way to celebrate your birthday?
graceylou comments on Aug 20, 2018:
Nothing. I don't celebrate my birthday. Last one, I worked. For my 40th, I didn't have a celebration, go to dinner, or anything like that. But I had a fundraiser. Instead of gifts or dinner or lunch, I asked my friends and family to donate to an animal shelter/rescue, either one of the ones listed on my fundraiser page or their favourite shelter/rescue. I guess my favourite thing to do on my birthday is to do something nice for someone else. Besides, my birthday is in the dead of winter so I don't like planning anything and not be able to go due to weather conditions. No one wants to go out when it's -31C.

There seems to be the idea that the opposite of monogamy is all out fuck anyone you want. There are many types and degrees of non-monogamy. Some of us have bonded and committed relationships with more than one person. I’m not against swingers or those in open relationships, but I couldn’t do any of that. I can’t do monogamy either but hey if that’s your thing then good for you. We should respect others for their relationship choices whatever it happens to be.

I’ve had hair down to my bum all the way to pixie. I change my hair when I feel like it. When men tell me they prefer my hair long, I tell them, nobody asks you!!! I had a short bob not too long ago streaked with burgundy fuchsia. It was fun. I find with short styles I feel sporty. Unfortunately my hair grows fast and shorter styles disappear quickly. Longer hair is easier to deal with for me, more or less wash and wear.
I love a man in a suit! What about you?

The troll of human nature.
graceylou comments on Aug 16, 2018:
As a vegan and recycling/reusing nut I get that all the time, people being reactive and defensive right off the bat without me saying anything more than stating that I am vegan, etc. I had a massive argument with my father because he claimed I pushed my beliefs on other people during my visit for their 50th anniversary party. All I did was answer people who asked me why I don't eat meat with "I'm vegan". People tend to get defensive and would give me reasons why they eat meat and dairy and I barely said anything. The reasoning that's been given for this behaviour is that people think they are morally good people who have lived a kind and respectful life, and hearing something that makes them question their morality puts them on the defensive position. My take on this is that if they react that way then it gets them thinking. May be they will go away and re-examine their beliefs and actions and decide to make changes. They might look like they are resisting because they don't want to admit that you might be right but you will see that some would start to make changes on their own after that. Keep being an example to other people, is all that you can do.
I do like dogs - not as much as cats - but it's some dogs owners I have a problem with.
graceylou comments on Aug 16, 2018:
Sadly, in these cases the dogs and other people are the ones paying for the irresponsibility of dog owners. When I lived in the city, some dogs were left loose in the yards and they followed and harassed people walking by. I used to walk my own dogs and encounter loose dogs. I called bylaw and all they did was give the owners a call and left a message. They were still loose after that. I called again and bylaw said they would go visit these people. Nothing happened. I had to walk elsewhere. Now living in the country, all the farmers let their dogs roam free. A couple of dogs recently killed someone's chickens. Dogs are often found sitting around in the middle of the road you're trying to drive on. Dog forbid you hit them, then you're an ass for not driving carefully. If you complain about roaming dogs, they tell you you shouldn't live in the country. I love dogs. I work with dogs. I work with hundreds of dogs of all kinds. I know they are animals still and can act unpredictably. I make sure mine are kept indoors or in my fenced yard, leashed when out. My cats too are all indoor cats (because roaming cats can cause issues as well). Oh, and yes, domestic cats can and do attack for no reason sometimes. I work in boarding and have encountered regular kitty customers that run to you and attack you when you aren't doing anything.
I've noticed a distressing lack of sugar mamas in my life.

I worked with people like this. Of all the coworkers, I was the only one who is fit. I'm in fact the oldest, with the rest in their 20s and 30s. I'm a tiny 5'3 but I'm stronger and have more endurance than the rest of them. I can go on all day on running on my feet with no breaks and no eating while at work. One of them kept telling me how she's on the keto diet avoiding all the carbs and eating tons of meat and cheese. Another one was always at some steak house or another on her days off and she complains about not losing weight. They all know I'm vegan. Yet they just dismissed it as some sort of a weird special dietary preference. To me, if you want to be fit, ask a person who is fit on how to do it. I like to follow vegan athletes and learn from them.

Please people please don't kill spiders just have fun capturing them with a cup and a piece of paper...
graceylou comments on Aug 13, 2018:
Like some people have said, leave the spiders alone. They are beneficial in the house (unless they are deadly venomous of course). If you must move house spiders, move them to the basement or a storage room or garage, some place away from people, if you aren't comfortable with them around. I'm a lover of all spiders and would do no harm to any of them.

At what age did you have your first sexual activity?
graceylou comments on Aug 12, 2018:
I was 25 when I lost my virginity to a guy who was 33. I had liked boys before but more concerned about school and winning scholarships that I didn’t care much about going out with boys or having boyfriends. I just thought that was a distraction I didn’t need and there was no boy smart enough for me. I had a few guys in university who asked me out but since I was top of class and they barely made average grades, no thanks.
Relationships-dating topic Spending time with your date or partner. Cuddle or need space?
graceylou comments on Aug 12, 2018:
Both. If I haven't seen them for awhile and I only have a short time with them, then I would want to be close most of the time, cuddle or something else. If they're around me all the time, I would need my own space at least part of the time.

I think many who know me would think I would be into swapping, but I don't have any interest in that at all. Never interested in swinging either. I'm not against any of that for other people of course. If you're curious, the only way to find out is to try it out and see how you feel. Like others have said, discuss it thoroughly with your husband and set ground rules. Since I'm non-monogamous, I have plenty of spice in my relationship already. But hey, if you like the idea of swapping, go for it.
Vegan Seafood Is About To Become Big Business--And Not A Moment Too Soon
graceylou comments on Aug 10, 2018:
I have trouble getting excited when new processed fake meats and dairy alternatives are introduced. I know they are great for new vegans and people transitioning into more plant based diets who love meats and dairy. My SO gets excited over this kind of thing as he’s about 90% plant based and is looking to increase that. He even talks to his friends, all big macho guys in trades, to make the transition using vegan alternatives. I don’t complain and I include some in my meals but honestly if I want burgers I make bean patties that look and taste nothing like meat. There are some uses of these alternatives in my cooking but I don’t like depending on them for food. A lot of non-vegans think this stuff is what “vegan food” is and they go yuck they’d never eat that. Omnis don’t realize they already eat vegan food, like fruits, veggies, beans, nuts, grains. And they actually like it.

Then I saw the non-dating option for those here only for community and I felt a little more relieved. I've been enjoying the ride so far. Nothing really deep in my intentions and reasons. Many times I come here to read posts and comments as entertainment in place of newpapers or TV.

But you gotta admit, hognoses are so darn cute.
I love hanging out in my garage making and fixing things.

I have a sewing room, which has been taken over by my geckos (and tarantulas) so now it's the gecko room, although I still sew there now and then.
What famous person do people think you look like?
graceylou comments on Jul 29, 2018:
Hmmmm. Any random Asian actress or whatever. Cause you know, we all look alike. Dressed in one of my dance outfits, a friend’s daughter said I looked like Mulan.
A woman changing her surname 2 her husband's after marriage; is it constitutional, religious, ...

Customary and traditional but yes outdated, but it’s up to each individual to choose whichever form. I chose a hyphenated last name. My mother never changed hers though people called her by my dad’s last name.
Pros and cons about having a tattoo/tattoos?
graceylou comments on Jul 27, 2018:
Pro: Having amazing art applied to your skin as canvas, having an expression of something that have special meaning to you always with you Con: as have been mentioned, tattoo healing and aftercare can be a pain, especially the itching; allergies, if you are allergic to metals you may want to rethink certain colours (I’m allergic to black, blue, and green) I’m not sure if the fact that tattoos are addictive is a pro or a con. I have 12 tattoos and I won’t stop until I’m pretty much all covered except for my face.
Hakkim, Qadir, Jabbar, Rashid...these are some of the men I know from the Middle East...

I had a middle eastern friend in high school named John. All his friends called him John the Terrorist. I realize now how mean that was but he didn't mind. We were all good friends.
Do you like it when your partner is the dominant one in bed, or do you prefer leading things?
graceylou comments on Jul 26, 2018:
I’m a switch but I prefer to be submissive. In other aspects of my life I’m dominant. In intimate situations I take on the opposite position. Tell me what you want me to do. Tell me what you want me to do to you. Hell, just use me. Mmmmm hmmm. If I’m asked to dominate I can easily do that as well.

Hi. I was born in Indonesia. Welcome.
So, the postman delivers 3 boxes to your door.
graceylou comments on Jul 25, 2018:
Large-a snake, medium-a lizard, small-a tarantula. But I would be suspicious of the postman delivering to my door because I can’t get mail here.
So at what age did you suddenly realise you were getting old me happened at 51 when everything ...
graceylou comments on Jul 25, 2018:
When I was 36 I learned that 36 was the median age of the population. That meant that half the population was younger than I was. That kinda made me feel old. But now at 47 I am in better shape and am stronger and healthier. I feel sort of younger because I can do what some of my younger friends and colleagues aren't capable of doing.
