@Cutiebeauty There is no reason anyone has to be submissive. Any person of any gender can choose to be submissive, or dominant, or neither. The important thing is that it's your choice to follow your inclination. One of my female friends is a very strict Domme. I knew a male who was a slave who's very much into humiliation and degradation. Whatever makes them happy.
It pisses me off that they have the main character in the new show God Friended Me be an atheist.

graceylou replies on Sep 27, 2018:
@Lillyfield41 It can be explained, such as age play, but why it appeals to someone, it could be different for different people or there is no particular reason. Why does someone like the colour orange or hate avocados? You may have to ask the person why they want to call you Mommy or they want you to call them Daddy. There may be a reason. There may be no particular reason at all; they just like it. Only they know. And you don’t have to participate in this sort of thing if you don’t feel comfortable.

You do your thing, but I don't care to know those things you do that has nothing to do with this thread. Obviously, a woman would not be endangering or goring any horse or humans in the same manner as a bull. Irrelevant. @zorialoki You will have to ask her. Who am I to define what her kinks and limits are? I wouldn't do any of that to a bull for any reason because a bull cannot give me consent. You would rather do things like that to a creature that cannot give you consent than to a person who doesn't only give you consent but derives pleasure in it (I don't know if anyone would derive pleasure in that specifically but I don't tell people what they can or cannot do as long as it's legal and can be done safely enough). BDSM must be safe and sane.

@dan325 I was going to say something similar. I collar my dogs in case they get out and get lost they will have ID on them. Otherwise, they don't need collars at all. I walk them on a leash for their safety from traffic and wildlife. Some of my dogs run free because I know I can trust them not to run after wildlife or get onto the road. My dogs are more like my children. It's not a dog's or a child's choice to consent to having a parent or pet parent to be a dominant figure. For their safety and in learning to navigate the world, dogs and children need to put their trust in a "parent" to lead them.

Physically or emotionally? You can always tune a D/s relationship to what suits the both/all parties. graceylou replies on Sep 27, 2018:
@JesseThompson You obviously will never understand the lifestyle so may be just leave it as not your thing. If a Dom takes advantage in that way then he isn’t a Dom who knows what he’s doing. Both Doms and subs go into the relationship knowingly and both get what they want out of it. If someone wants to be a sub and serve, and that makes her/him happy then she/he should be allowed. Nobody is in harms way in a D/s relationship. Limits are set and care is taken that both parties are safe and sane. Nobody forces another into submission. Both parties enjoy the relationship and get sexual pleasure out of it. There is no way a slave in the historical slave trade had this kind of experience with their owners. There are no parallels. A lot of BDSM couples are much happier than vanilla couples in traditional marriage. Actually, it’s the fact that you steadfastly hold on to your beliefs and assumptions about other people’s choices that make you sound like a religious zealot. No matter how things are explained, you twist it in such a way that makes sense only to you. It’s not your thing, then just leave it as such. You don’t have a good grasp of the lifestyle to go further than that. And I’m not wasting any more time on a religios-like zealot.

@JesseThompson it doesn’t sound like religion to me at all. Religion has leaders who make up the rules supposedly given by an imaginary higher power and everyone else has to follow them. A committed D/s relationship is like any agreement between two or more people, with rules and guidelines set and agreed upon by all and with any member having the right to dissolve or leave the relationship if it doesn’t live up to the agreement.

graceylou replies on Sep 26, 2018:
@JesseThompson in a way a committed D/s relationship ensures “equality” between the partners because both make and agree upon the rules and limits of the relationship, both have the power to stop a behaviour that breaks the rules or pushes beyond agreed upon limits, and the various aspects of the relationship are not only consensual but are for the mutual satisfaction and happiness of both partners. Both partners hold their own power. There is no Dominant without a submissive having the power to give that submission, with rules and responsibilities attached, to the Dominant. Submissives have a lot of power. Submissives are not doormats that once you give away that key to your collar the Dominant can do what they want. Both parties have huge commitment to maintain the rules and responsibilities of the relationship and a collar solidifies that commitment. And always, safe and sane.

@Our_existance I did mention that dark side in all of us that we can all dig into and bring out. And yes I believe we do have to go there in Sadism. But you are also saying it’s not a pleasure thing which I disagree with. I also disagree with it being anger in disguise. May be it’s just the way you say it that make it sound like it’s an avenue to get your anger out. To me it’s more using that part of a human being that we all have, the “dark” part, for pleasure shared with another in an S/M relationship.

I think if you have those anger or other issues that come from a “dark” place, you should not even be involved in Sadism (or BDSM in general). If by “dark” you mean that aspect that we all have in our primal make up then that could make sense. But still the relationship between the Sadist and sub/slave must be for the mutual satisfaction and enjoyment of both parties. Anger should not come into play.

@jamessmithwick I’ve dealt with BDD all my life (and OCD). I’ve been better at coping with it as an adult but now and again I feel the need to lock myself up so no one can see me as I feel hideous.

graceylou replies on Sep 21, 2018:
@Piece2YourPuzzle Since I’m only limited to 7 characters on the vanity license plate including spaces I can’t have it spell SMARTASS or SMART ASS. But SMART S reads the same as those. An alternative might be SMRTASS.

graceylou replies on Sep 21, 2018:
@Captain747ex The weather is always gloomy, wet, depressing. There’s a lot of crime and poverty. It’s very crowded, traffic is horrible. Housing prices are insane most people can’t afford to buy homes. For the price I paid for my almost 20 acres and 3600 sq ft home here, I would get a shed in Vancouver. The focus on trendiness is a bit sickening. There is a lot of sadness and suffering in Vancouver that just get shoved under the rug so tourists don’t see them and only see the pretty mountains and ocean and trendy shops.

@thinktwice Stratford in Ontario is a huge Shakepearean Festival. We do have a smaller festival in the summer here called Shakespeare in the Park. When I lived in Vancouver, we had Bard on the Beach. I took an acting class in university, and one of my classmates, her husband was stage manager so we all got to go for free. One of the actors of the play we attended later became a regular on The X-Files, which was filmed in Vancouver. And he happened to be my friend's (fellow grad student) brother in law!!! Daddy took me to The Globe Theater in London (re-creation of the original Globe Theater) and He took me to see As You Like it featuring Sienna Miller and Dominic West at a West End theatre. That was amazing!!! We sooooooo need a Shakespeare group here!!

I remember him to be extremely smart and very sweet, and he gave me this T-shirt at my party.
