Do people take "Here for community" seriously?
SaucyCheryl comments on Aug 28, 2018:
Why block people? Just let them know you aren't dating right now. Seems kinda extreme.
graceylou replies on Aug 28, 2018:
Well this guy was talking about god and got miffed because I questioned him on it. Others just get rude and angry and I don’t need that.

Have you thought about changing or taking off your gender to deter some of the inconsiderate men?
graceylou replies on Aug 28, 2018:
Not really. I shouldn’t have to be the one to give up something because others can’t or don’t read.

Your expectations are reasonable. They even ask if you are lookin for dating or not. I am married and like you just looking for meaningful dialog with people of the same beliefs.
graceylou replies on Aug 28, 2018:
I was a little apprehensive joining this site because I wasn’t sure if it’s primarily a dating site but reading the info it seems it was just a community site with dating added because members wanted it. I joined because of the option to say no to dating.

Yes, I think it could be a lot worse. I mostly blocked today because of the god thing.

Yes, there are many wonderful people here I enjoy chatting with and getting to know. I’m not looking for a relationship but I have formed some relationships here, just not THAT type most people are looking for when dating. But absolutely, the majority of the members here are decent, exceptional, intelligent, funny, brilliant, creative, witty. And literate enough to read profiles.

I joined in the hope of dating, but I stayed because of the community. It's great fun being on here and talking and laughing with like minded people. I hope this doesn't sour you on the site too much. And I have a feeling that this happens a lot more with attractive women, sadly.
graceylou replies on Aug 28, 2018:
No. I’m not discouraged from staying in the community. It’s just that something like that might ruin my mood for the day. I’m really enjoying myself here otherwise, especially in the groups.

Thank you. You are very sweet. For the most part I have fun here. Only now and again I get a few desperate sounding people who need a life partner now!!! Since I list myself as here for community I don’t feel the need to lay out all my personal and relationship information in my profile. Those who get to know me will find out more of that by getting to know me as friends or more.

@HardBlues69 Oh I can climax just not vaginally. Your question has to do with intercourse specifically, no? Usually I get taken care of first either orally or manually and it does feel good with the actual sex part right after where he gets his turn.

Never. I reject the term. If two people (or yourself) in an informed way choose to do something, who says it's deviant? Uncommon perhaps, maybe revolting even, but if it is not to you and your informed and consenting partner.....it's not deviant. How about sexually adventurous? Unconventional?

@Sticks48 I make sushi rolls filled with veggies. Sometimes also tofu or some sort of faux meat but only limited amounts. I use vegan mayo for the sauce inside the sushi rolls. I made cornbread tonight. I don’t always like sweet foods but sometimes it’s nice to have some around. I can’t buy vegan treats in the stores in town so I make them myself.

I have veggies with rice or pasta, soups, tofu scramble, burritos or fajitas with vegan alternatives, veggie sushi. I make pancakes, cookies, cakes, cupcakes, other treats and desserts. I make my own bread also.

@Sticks48 Sometimes art just captures you. I am a huge fan of the Tate Modern in London. I never thought I would be a fan of modern art but I went back over and over. And no, vegan food was difficult to find especially when you don’t have a vehicle to just go anywhere. I did find a few options and quite a few at the grocery stores. I traveled vegetarian then (only if I couldn’t find a vegan option). Now I’m a strict vegan so it would be even more difficult. I’d survive though.

@Sticks48 That was the only problem I had in New Orleans. Food. Everything had meat or seafood in it. I survived on pasta with some kind of tomato sauce (and I’m allergic to tomatoes). In NYC I spent like 6 hours at the Museum of Natural History (because I’m such a nerd) until they had to kick me out when they were closing.

@questionall I post recipes in the vegan groups. They might not show up on my profile. I rarely talk to my parents even now, only when absolutely necessary (like my mom was in the hospital recently for pneumonia). I do get updates from various people. If I call and talk to them it might just end up in arguments.

I know squeezing mine can certainly relieve stress. If someone else gives it a squeeze, even better. They are cuter than those Cabbage Patch Dolls, but then what isn't? ☺

Do you "dress your age"?
Nada comments on Aug 24, 2018:
I don't think that should even be a thing. I say dress how you feel like dressing, to express yourself, a d to be comfortable. No other reason matters (although if you do corporate work you might need a couple of suites, which I personally utterly despise and forever happy that I don't have to.)
graceylou replies on Aug 24, 2018:
I am technically the CEO of my corporation (on paper anyway). LOL. My corporate work includes playing with dogs and getting grubby. Jeans and t-shirt are standard office wear.

Unless one is a fashionista (more power to 'em), it seems most folks gravitate to what is comfortable - fashion trends be damned ! I know here in super casual, and often very warm Florida, I dress for comfort . On the rare occasions I need to dress up a bit , I manage - but really don't ...
graceylou replies on Aug 24, 2018:
I would be completely out of place around a fashionista, although I used to be one. I used to work around the university and with students, and those people aren't exactly examples of trendy fashion. And now, I work with dogs. They don't care what I wear, and on occasion, I've had my clothing torn up by overly enthusiastic pooches. I like casual and comfortable but I also love unique one of a kind clothing. I feel as comfortable in shorts and tank top as I am in a ball gown in heels.

An interesting question. I think it's fine to have one's own style, which may or may not fit other's perception of age-appropriate. Be reasonable: If you don't like suits but it's a formal affair, go with the flow. Where I see this being charged revolves around the objectification of women when ...
graceylou replies on Aug 24, 2018:
Yes, dressing the way you want is usually fine except in the cases that you mentioned. I can easily pull off a Hello Kitty top and short frilly skirt because I don't look like I'm in my 40s. On the other hand, I can hardly pull off a blouse and a blazer without someone asking me if I'm going to a special event.

There is a time and place for thongs. They are super uncomfortable. I might wear thong undies when I wear tight body-fitting dresses and don't want panty lines showing through. Or if I wear a skirt for dance with slits way up my thighs.

@kjsgenie Temps in the -20s and -30s Celsius are not uncommon. You do acclimatize. I've lived here for over 20 years. My family is on the west coast where -1C is considered freaking cold. They never can understand how anyone can live in Alberta winters. I have a few friends in your area. I've heard about the extreme winters. I think you guys get more snow than we do here. We tend to be a lot dryer, not so much precipitation most of the year.

@helionoftroy But if I had my choice for a vehicle and colour for non-functional purposes, I'd want a hot pink Smart car cabriolet. I drove my red and black one for years (I still have her but she doesn't run due to engine issues that would cost more to repair than the cost of the car when I bought her).
