@Nukdookum I do feel that BDSM is often so misrepresented in the media (movies, TV shows) and in public that, as you mentioned, there is such a stigma surrounding the lifestyle. We also often only hear when something goes wrong or is wrong, while the majority of D/s relationships are stable and safe, going on for years without concern.

Thank you for this. I had wanted to make some of those points as well but you are way more articulate and knowledgeable than I am. Having been in the scene in some way or another for decades, as a submissive and slave, I can spot would-be Dominants who just want to play this position with willing submissive for the power and control they feel it gives them. @pepperjones Go for it. Grab some friends from here and have a spontaneous party in Vegas. My favourite place to go though, New Orleans. I guess I don't like to be in the spotlight, unless I'm performing on stage. I don't like having attention on me. I always feel guilty. On my 50th birthday, I plan to go to Bali and volunteer for the street dog rescue. To me, that is doing something for myself too because I've always wanted to do that.

@misternatureboy I don't think anyone would be looking. Their house is about a mile away you can barely see it. I've never actually seen the people in the 8 years I've lived here. Have seen their tractors and harvesting machines but never seen the persons closely. Their fields share a fence with ours. They will probably be ok with me around if they see me everyday.

@misternatureboy They belong to someone else so I won't give them anything to eat as treats. I wouldn't want random people coming up to my horses and giving them treats, or my dogs too. These cows are (sadly) commodity for profit not animals in a petting zoo, so if anything happens to them, I could be blamed for feeding them something not approved. They do have horses as well over there and they like to be petted.

I would too. But they were looking at me like I was a predator and moved away. Then the adults moved around the calves to protect them. Oh well. Cows don't like me I guess (they are all adult females with calves).

@Ray13 I have sustained many injuries from dogs. I’ve been bitten numerous times. I’ve become a little desensitized when it comes to injuries from dogs. All of us at that boarding facility are the same as me. But we all would shudder when that one cat comes back for boarding. I’ve also done a lot of work with feral cats. @Hathacat The previous owner didn't want the dogs in the house. When we got her we asked what brand food she was on, and we were told she ate from neighbourhood garbage and owner's leftovers. I was shocked. She was never shot but the owner ended up locking the dogs up in a shed to keep from being shot at.

@Hathacat It's the same here. You could shoot them but people won't. One of my dogs came from a rural location where shooting dogs on your property was permitted. She was being shot at while roaming so now she's scared of all loud popping or booming sounds.

Growing up everyone always said I look like my Dad. When I went to my parents’ 50th anniversary party, everyone (who didn’t know who I was) was surprised I’m my parents’ daughter. They said I look nothing like my parents or my brothers. I guess I look like nobody but myself.

These are not my dogs. They are in fact my clients. They are boarding with us. But some of my dogs get to come there too sometimes. I own the facility and I live only 200 m away where I have 4 large dogs of my own.

I live by a small town so our choices are more limited unless I want to drive almost an hour to the city. But my small town grocer (yup we only have one food store), carries a decent enough selection. The plant milks section is expanding (and they always have to restock due to more consumers choosing plant milks) and the dairy milk section is getting smaller and smaller. They stock more and more vegan options other than milks as well. I mean we are talking about a small rural town here, big cattle country.

That's the thing though. I don't often find someone in my own age group to be fascinating enough to be with. A bit older or a lot older would be my preference. I have had a lover who was almost 6 years younger but I suppose we were sort of the same age group. I do enjoy my relationship with my young man but for me it won't ever be anything too serious. He would accept my poly lifestyle for the sake of being with me. Although I think he does like the idea as well. One day I will have to let him go so he can have a "normal" life, if that is what he wants. I do consider him a boyfriend since we've been together 2 years. May be I should just enjoy it for whatever it is.

Sounds awesome. I am also poly and my SO is 25 years older and we have been together over 20 years. Older is never a problem for me. Slightly younger is fine too, even 10 years more or less. I usually turn down much younger men but this one I love to bits even if he's 20 years my junior. He knows and understands that I'm poly and that he's interested in being more involved with my life and other relationships.
