Pure Space Is Just An Absolute State of Nothingness, and the Big Bang Event Didn’t Create Squat!...
indirect76 comments on Mar 18, 2019:
Now about the cherry bomb analogy. Depending on how you want to set up the initial velocities, you would expect to see one of two thing that indicates where the center of the explosion happened. You would see either large void where the matter used to be, or a large clump of matter where the matter is moving away from. This is not what we observe.

indirect76 comments on Mar 18, 2019:
I agree that time & space didn’t necessarily start at the Big Bang. It may have, it may not have. I really don’t know. I disagree on space being pure nothingness. Pure nothingness would have no properties. Space has the property of three demensions. So that makes space something.

I don’t see how religion plays into this at all in the way you are thinking. I think people fairly universally do not want to die. That’s about it. What they do with their money is a moral decision that they alone get to decide. I would actually say that a belief in an afterlife would cause less people to spend all their money on prolonging their lives.

Just for fun. Radius of the earth 6,378 kilometers Height of my Everest 8.845 kilometers Equation for volume by radius V=4/3πr^3 Earth volume: 4/3π6,378^3= 1,086,781,292,542.889 Earth volume with flood: 4/3π(6,378+8.845)^3= 1,091,309,005,339.637 Difference between the volumes: 1,091,309,005,339.637 - 1,086,781,292,542.889 = 4,527,712,796.75 km^3 (roughly) It would be pretty difficult to estimate the volume of the ocean and the land mass above the sea level so: https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-volume-of-Earths-above-sea-level-landmass-and-would-all-this-land-fit-inside-the-planets-oceans Volume of land mass above the ocean 125,109,600 cubic km Subtract this from previous calculation 4,527,712,796.75-125,109,600 = 4,402,603,196.75 https://www.livescience.com/6470-ocean-depth-volume-revealed.html Current ocean volume: 1.332 billion cubic kilometers 4,402,603,196.75 > 1.332 billion So yeah. That was fun, but ultimately pointless. I think it can be reasoned fairly easily, that there is only enough water in the ocean to fill the earth to just around... sea level.

It’s funny that the borders hardly line up across state borders, which is to be expected. Though there is one across the Ohio river separating Kentucky and it’s a major separator between the Midwest & the south. At least where I am (the tipity top of KY) it’s much more of a midwestern kind of vibe. I’ve also lived in Lexington, which is almost center of the state. It’s a touch more southerny in culture, but I still think it’s more midwestern. Well, these things are fairly intangible after all.
