It might be natural to assume otherwise, but other qualities like compassion and the ability to work with people can be more helpful. You also have to explain exactly what is meant by ‘intelligence’ as there are many aspect to that concept alone.

My very close friends can call me Rob with no issue even. The gender thing is a bit different. I’ve never been asked to use a different gender pronoun by anyone. If I were, I would certainly do so unless the person is being a real jack ass about it. What I don’t go for is legislating manditory speech.

I love it when I have to drag myself to the hospital nearly pissing myself in pain for kidney stones and they give me static because I want some pain killers. I have to ask and try to not look like a drug seeker only to get mostly APAP. Taking one does nothing, so I have to take three times the amount on the label. I know there’s a big problem with their abuse, but the reaction has been overkill. This wasn’t a thing 10 years ago. I could go to the hospital, get treated there and go home with some narcos safe in the thought that I would not have to endure excruciating pain. I’d be better off going to a drug dealer for my kidney stones, but at my age that’s not going to happen.
