I am a bot. Of the 22 humans I have interfaced with, 9 have passed the robotic Turing test. Of this 9, only 2 did not already own a calculator. 1 of these 2 existed physically. After meeting, I found that this person had a male connector, which is the opposite connection type that I explicitly stated I was looking for in my profile.
Possibly the lamest question ever.
indirect76 comments on Apr 24, 2018:
In my state, backing into a parallel park is the correct method. Outside of that, how much longer does it take to back in, 10 seconds? What about the people backing out of spot after they went in straight? Aren’t they going to waste 10 seconds of your time as well?
Reiki Anyone?

indirect76 comments on Apr 24, 2018:
Ignoring the improbability of my corpse attending any funeral but my own, yes I would attend their funeral. Funerals are for the living, not the dead.
Why does sexism exist in atheism?
indirect76 comments on Apr 24, 2018:
I would say it’s mostly cultural and has little to do sometimes with religion. A lot of music, movies, TV shows, books, plays and video games are guilty of reinforcing these notions of what it means to be a women or a man.

Tangent line and point p for those that may not know. The idea is that these lines share a single point.
I heard a saying that has me a bit baffled.
indirect76 comments on Apr 23, 2018:
There is no tangential point between zero & infinity, but there is no such thing as a tangential point between any two numbers. Tangential points only exist between lines, surfaces or other higher dimensional objects. It’s not written very well. It’s better to say god is the tangential point between two parallel lines, but even that is weak.
Board games.
indirect76 comments on Apr 23, 2018:
The best of both worlds.
Okay.
indirect76 comments on Apr 22, 2018:
I’ve been an atheist just about my whole life and the sense of dread over the finality of death has never gone away completely. Rather than dwell on it, I use it as inspiration to live my life to the fullest. One thing to consider is that for billions of years before you were born, you did not exist. It’s really not a big deal to return to that.
What’s the longest you’ll allow dirty dishes to be in the sink?

It seems to me that atheism has to be a belief.

Debating Atheism
indirect76 comments on Apr 21, 2018:

indirect76 comments on Apr 21, 2018:
I see no contradiction necessarily. I would say I am a ‘freethinker’, but if tomorrow the god of Christianity was revealed to me in such a way that I believe in Christianity, I would still consider myself a freethinker. I suppose it all boils down to what ‘freethinker’ means.

Things that people put in dating profiles that are pet peeves. Discuss.
indirect76 comments on Apr 17, 2018:
The ‘guess who’ profile pictures. All of them are group photos. I have better things to do than play the matching game. Pics of their pet, or anything else that is not the person. I’ll be honest, I have to be at least a little bit attracted to a girl physically. Sorry. That’s what the profile pics are for.
I'm a little confused when I listen to Sam Harris explain that we do not have free will Anybody out...
indirect76 comments on Apr 17, 2018:
I can’t speak about what Harris is saying, but if you believe the universe is deterministic, i.e. all things have a predictable outcome, and our brains are in this universe, then it follows that all your thoughts and actions are predetermined by circumstance and that free will is an illusion.

Selflessness
indirect76 comments on Apr 17, 2018:

Why we might miss extraterrestrial life.
indirect76 comments on Apr 15, 2018:
I’ve seen that video and it’s quite interesting that I did not notice the gorilla passing through. That said, I don’t think you can compare that with the search for extra terrestrial life. One involves a human using their eyes to observe a scene, the other involves instruments analyzing data.
