I have a 38 year old daughter who wasn't diagnosed until she was about 4. We knew somthing was up when the nurse brought her to us and said, "You have a different one here!" She was finally homeschooled and now lives with her mother in NC. Very smart and can not be around people.

Thx Nomad, as you rightly point out autism related issues in the UK are a bloody nightmare. My eldest daughter is an aspie, I'm fairly sure my ex was too and she thought so as well and I work with adults on the spectrum in relation to employment support, another nightmare!!!! I'm obviously hoping to get some takers but also appreciate it may take some time for people to feel comfortable enough to start commenting, with people like yourself here I'm hoping it will act as not just a forum for those on the spectrum to know they're not alone but also as a support group for anybody associated with it. I'm loathed to use a bit of slang here but I may just get away with it, fingers crossed :-)

Time for Wenger to go ? That was like watching Sunday Morning football over the park.
ipdg77 replies on Mar 5, 2018:
I don't think Wenger will go until the end of the season, if then, but a major overhaul is needed without Arsenal being in the wilderness for umpteen years. I don't think they have the experience at boardroom level to know what to do or how to do it, they could just become another team that can't cope with change after a long serving manager.

@Ella Although in the UK I've been a Vikings fan since the 1982 strike season. Was just starting to get into football and had a penfriend, very briefly, from Mankato. I have lived and died with them ever since. Last season's Minneapolis Miracle followed by the Philadelphia Fall Out is a vignette of life a Vikings fan :-)

Atheism, is it mainly just in relation to the Abrahamic religions?
mordant comments on Mar 4, 2018:
This site is frequented by Westerners, especially US and UK and other English speaking nations, so naturally, atheists here are going to be most familiar with various flavors of Christianity (loosely speaking, including some sects that some Christians disavow, such as Mormons and JWs and Science of ...
ipdg77 replies on Mar 4, 2018:
I wasn't suggesting that atheism was solely Abrahamic god related but was trying to find out about other religions whose followers have left. The demographic of this site would seem to make it difficult to find out.

What's the groups take on VAR?
RobH86 comments on Mar 3, 2018:
I am all for changing the game to make it better, and I do think that VAR can work, we just need to have it in a different way. For me there are too many incidents in a game that are down to interpretation, for VAR to work the way we want it to. I would like to see a stopclock system, where the ...

I think they've tried to do too much with it. Maybe just starting with the challenge that should be red carded, get the timing right, the interaction etc then move onto another facet. I think rugby has the right take with regards a goal/try, if the ref is happy he gives it and the VAR has no job to do, if not he leads the VAR with 'Any reason I can't give it' and in rugby the man in the booth seems to be following the game! I do wonder if they're using a call centre abroad for the VAR lol
