My journey to atheism was a long and troubling battle with my mind. For about the past ten years I tried to justify and explain the existence of god after serving the previous 4 or 5 years as a devout christian. During those 10 years of battling my mind I did not watch not one atheist video. I did not read not one atheist book or meme. Actually the word "atheist" never entered my mind. Then one day like a ton of bricks it hit me...god can not possibly exist! After that realization I started watching video's by Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris along with others. I sat there blown away that these people were highlighting and explaining conclusions that I had came up on my own. It was such a relief to sit there and listen to my thoughts come out of other peoples mouths
