Most admired human being in your lifetime

Eleanore Roosevelt
Just another thought in passing.
jlynn37 comments on Jun 23, 2018:
I agree with most of what you have stated. I believe Confucius may have been the first to record a version of the golden rule. The golden rule has it's flaws as some may not want to be treated the way you want to be treated. The silver rule is much more powerful; do NOT do to anyone that which you would not want done to you. One caveat to any and all maxims of life is to do or cause no harm.
Can Loneliness Kill You? - YouTube
jlynn37 comments on Jun 23, 2018:
I personally do not think so. It can contribute to one's demise but it will not be the cause. As an analogy, diabetes is not a fatal disease and will not kill you but is a major contributing factor in many deaths. You will die WITH diabetes, not FROM diabetes and I think the same is true with loneliness.

Why do conservative Christians feel oppressed?
jlynn37 comments on Jun 23, 2018:

I suggest you live together for a minimum of 2 years. Just my recommendation to anyone.
What is your opinion about to get married?
jlynn37 comments on Jun 22, 2018:
It depends totally on the individual. I was married only once, got a divorce and have been single for 50 years and have no intention of changing that. I am a loner and an introvert and prefer to be by myself most of the time. I enjoy being around a woman when I have the opportunity, which isn't very often, but only for a short time frame (days at most).

Socialist vs. Socialism?
jlynn37 comments on Jun 22, 2018:

jlynn37 comments on Jun 21, 2018:
I doubt I would. Life is more than just trying to stay alive and living as long as you are capable of living. Everyone is going to die eventually and there is no escaping that fact. Until my number's up, I'm gonna fill my cup, I'm gonna live until I die.
Are there any women hikers or backpackers out there?
jlynn37 comments on Jun 21, 2018:
I was traveling in Utah in June, in the high country and it was cold with snow on the ground. I pulled into a roadside rest area and there was a young woman, alone, sitting by her backpack. I asked her if she was OK or needed any assistance. She replied that she was backpacking and was just resting. I have backpacked in wilderness areas myself but with a group, including women. She impressed the hell out of me. Women hikers and backpackers are not all that uncommon and I admire and am proud of you all and your adventuresome spirit and courage.
