Why Do Atheist Seem More Depressed Than Theists? | Atheist Experience 22.19 - YouTube
jlynn37 comments on Jun 1, 2018:
If that is true, and I am skeptical, it is probably because we are so isolated. Hopefully this is changing with the times.

Why doesn't god intervene when innocent children are being raped or starved?
jlynn37 comments on May 31, 2018:
In your specific example, god must be thinking, "I see what you are doing but I will not intervene, however I will punish you later, unless of course you accept my son as your savior in which case we are good and I'll see you in paradise".
I just moved in to an "Old Folks Home" in Tucson.

As a non-believer, what is your moral foundation?
jlynn37 comments on May 25, 2018:
I have posted this before but here I will say it again. First of all, recongnize and accept that we are one species, one family and we are all cousins in that family, then love everyone in your family and love each cousin as the individual that they are. Strive to treat everyone the way you want to be treated. Strive to never do anything to anyone that you would not want done to you. Strive to do or cause no harm.
It's interesting when I bring up Ayn Rand people write the opposite of what she is saying.

Appeal to Ignorance
jlynn37 comments on May 23, 2018:
I try to live an evidence based life. My position on the validity anything relies on whether there is reasonable evidence, facts and data to support what is being presented. Bible verses that still bother you.

If a woman wants an abortion should the father have a right to keep the child?
jlynn37 comments on May 20, 2018:
I will qualify this by saying that if a woman wants an abortion, it should be her decision only. If the father wants the child to raise AND the woman agrees to that condition AND wants to take to term, then the father has the right to his child. There are ALWAYS extenuating circumstances that arise.
