Just this guy, you know. Extra credit identifying that one.

You could describe me as a recovering Southern Baptist. Surprisingly, given my background, my politics tend toward progressive.

I am a vegetarian and don't drink, smoke, or do drugs. I'm not much movies, but do enjoy live theater. I am a singer/songwriter, sometimes recording engineer, and also host a weekly open mic in Long Beach.

Other hobbies include law (I am not an attorney) and graphic arts.

Professionally, I have programmed computers, developed web sites, and developed and used cutting edge technology marketing.

Guess I'm just your basic 21st century Renaissance dude.

And as my late friend, Roz Larman, once told her radio audience, "All this, ladies, and he cooks, too."

My brother was a lifelong Republican until th day that McCain nominated Palin. I could say the same about a few other people I know. Driving those people out of the party did, indeed clear the way for Trump. McCain has since admitted it was a serious mistake. I agree with @Freedompath: "One mistake does not make or break a man! I view him in an overall context and I feel a loss! I saw in him a man of honor!" If we never forgive McCain for Palin, how do we forgive the Democrats in the Senate who voted against convicting Clinton? In doing so they gave up the moral high ground of holding the President accountable under the law. If they had not done that, they could have gone after Bush and Cheney for lying us into two wars. And if they had held Clinton accountable and we still ended up with Trump, they would have no problem demanding his impeachment and citing the precedent of Clinton.

And the Manhattan DA is going after the Trump Organization. Since Allen Weisselberg has flipped, that will be a much bigger deal than the foundation. He has worked for the company since the '70s, starting under Fred Trump. He knows the exact date and amount of every penny in and out of the company for the last decade plus. If there was a bribe paid, he can document it. Likewise if there was money laundered. These are not *just* criminal charges. They are charges under the NY state RICO law. This could result in the state seizing and/or freezing every penny of tRump's assets, as well as sending these three and daddy to state prison. At this point the question is whether the state will let them have Thanksgiving dinner together as a family?

If he doesn't stop, very sweetly and politely say, "If you are going to touch me like that, I think I should at least know your name." If he is stupid enough to give you his name (I'll give you odds he is) say, "Well, John (or whatever his name is), you are in violation of section 2907.06 of the Ohio Revised Codes, Sexual Imposition, and we're calling the cops on you." Two key points here: 1) Make sure you have witnesses and it is not just your word against his. 2) Get his name and description. If he leaves get his license plate number and a description of the car.

mcgeo52 comments on Aug 24, 2018:
It would not be that difficult. All it would take is proof that Trump's election was based on a fraud. Michael Cohen's plea may well have given us that. Nothing based on fraud can stand legally. That includes all of tRump's orders, and all of his executive appointees and their orders. It would also include ALL of his judicial appointees up to and including Gorsuch. It might take a year or two to sort through the implications, but it doesn't have to take a generation or more to recover from this nightmare. The next job is to make sure it doesn't happen again. Start by reinstating the fairness doctrine that Reagan got rid of.
With today's news, how close do you think tRump is to resigning.
mcgeo52 comments on Aug 24, 2018:
I think tRump may well resign. If it looks like he is not willing to, then Mueller and the NY AG could have a meeting with him and explain his options: • Behind door #1 is the NY AG with a stack of RICO indictments that will be filed by noon tomorrow. By close of business the following day all of Trump’s assets will be frozen/confiscated. He will die penniless in Sing Sing. • Behind door #2 is Robert Mueller. Trump agrees to plead guilty to a federal felony, make a confession to be televised to the nation, pay some serious fines, and serve a minimal term at Club Fed. • Behind door#3… Oh! Wait! There is no door #3. What’s it gonna be, Donnie?

I host an open mic at an art gallery in Long Beach. Almost all of the furnishings in the gallery have been rescued from the curb or the alley. As for the equipment I use, I have saved a substantial amount (i.e., 20% to 65%) by buying used mics. Let's face it, I buy the mics to use them. After a few weeks I have a used mic even if I paid for a new one. A Shure SM57 is still a Shure SM57 even after it has been used for years. And Sennheiser e835s don't have a shelf life either. By intelligently buying a mix of new and used equipment I have put together a sound system that gives us the best sound of any open mic in the area, and saved a few hundred in the process. Also in Long Beach we have a shop, Long Beach Depot for Creative Reuse, that carries nothing but scrap items from manufacturers. Artist and craft types find all sorts of things there to incorporate into their projects. My other favorite is buying refurbished items. Those are real bargains most of the time.
