Just this guy, you know. Extra credit identifying that one.

You could describe me as a recovering Southern Baptist. Surprisingly, given my background, my politics tend toward progressive.

I am a vegetarian and don't drink, smoke, or do drugs. I'm not much into movies, but do enjoy live theater. I am a singer/songwriter, sometimes recording engineer, and also host a weekly open mic in Long Beach.

Other hobbies include law (I am not an attorney) and graphic arts.

Professionally, I have programmed computers, developed web sites, and developed and used cutting edge technology marketing.

Guess I'm just your basic 21st century Renaissance dude.

And as my late friend, Roz Larman, once told her radio audience, "All this, ladies, and he cooks, too."

The interesting thing is that those of us who have the best grasp on the concepts of Big Data and AI are probably the most skeptical about its "benefits".

There is a lot more to this than what was shown in 1:50. A whole lot. And it will be coming out. Just one small point that came up here involved Ivana Trump, and the fact that she was involved with trump at the time he began to deal with the Russian mob. A friend on Facebook posted: "My father was born in Czechoslovakia, and, consequently, I was raised in the American Czech Underground fighting against the Soviet Mafia, who stole my Grandfather's property, and then killed him. I wonder if our journalists will get around to the fact that Trump's first wife, Soviet Czech born KGB operative, was the one who turned Trump and connected him to the KGB Soviet Mafia. Know that there is not, and has never been, a difference between the Soviets, the KGB, and the "Russian Mafia". These life long criminals should NOT be mistaken for the Russian people; who have been victims of such criminals for hundreds of years." Then there is the KGB operation that I posted an article about previously https://agnostic.com/post/165055/overall-we-rate-the-epoch-times-right-center-biased-and-high-for-factual-reporting-about-usa-news. It was set up to traffic in and use underage girls for kompromat. I find it almost impossible to believe that the Trump Modeling Agency was not tied to that operation. Oh, yeah. There is plenty more that will be coming out.

mcgeo52 comments on Dec 11, 2018:
If Pence is indicted and resigns, Trump gets to nominate a new Vice President. Of course the Senate and House both have to approve the nomination before the nominee can be sworn in. I imagine Nancy Pelosi will be about as eager to have a vote on the nominee as McConnell was to have a vote on Merrick Garland.
.
mcgeo52 comments on Dec 13, 2018:
@glennlab, than you for your research on this. This is absolute proof that Pence can be prosecuted. However, the prosecution of the President is a very different matter. Article 2, Section 1, Clause 1 of the Constitution says, "The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America." With a single exception, prosecution of criminal charges is an act of the executive. Hence the DoJ policy that a sitting President cannot be indicted for a federal crime. Of course the single exception is impeachment which is an act of the legislature, not the executive. It is also worth noting that the President is not the executive acting to prosecute state crimes. I am not aware of any valid legal argument that a sitting President cannot be indicted and tried for state crimes.

Attorney Bradley Moss was asked about Obamagate on Fox News. Here is his answer: BRADLEY MOSS: Yeah, I'm sitting here trying to figure out what exactly constitutional deprivation was there? What is the crime that people think, you know, Barack Obama and Joe Biden are going to be prosecuted under? To be clear—and this is using the words of President Trump and his lawyers for the last three years—any sitting president can get any classified information they want. According to Donald Trump, they can launch any investigation they want. They can tell the FBI to pursue only particular individuals. This is not me saying it. This is what Donald Trump's been saying for three years. This was their argument during the Mueller probe. This was their argument during the impeachment investigation. That the president has this kind of authority. So what did we find out? That Barack Obama was aware about intelligence intercepts on the Russian ambassador when he was talking with General Flynn? That there had just been an attack on our election a couple months earlier? We were still dealing with the fallout of Russian election interference in 2016. There was a concern about a counterintelligence prom with Michael Flynn, and they had a discussion. I'm shocked. I can't believe they had that conversation. What is the crime?

mcgeo52 comments on May 29, 2020:
I remember the only two times that I am aware of when Uncle Walter made any kind of editorial comment. Both times he made it very clear that they were editorial statements. Many of you probably remember his February 27, 1968 comment about the war in Vietnam: “[I]t seems now more certain than ever that the bloody experience of Vietnam is to end in a stalemate . . . [I]t is increasingly clear to this reporter that the only rational way out then will be to negotiate, not as victors, but as an honorable people who lived up to their pledge to defend democracy, and did the best they could. This is Walter Cronkite. Good night.” The other one, that you probably don’t remember, but I doubt I will forget happened a year and a half earlier on August 1, 1966. Charles Whitman had taken a rifle to the top of the Tower at the University of Texas and shot and killed 14 people. I was very much aware of what had happened because my grandmother had called us in upstate NY from Austin and spent five minutes telling us about being at the lunch counter in Woolworth’s across the street fom the campus and hearing the shots. [For those who don’t remember, a five minute long distance phone call was a really big deal in the ‘60s.] That evening Walter Cronkite reported the story. Then he swung his chair 90 degrees, faced the other camera, loosened his tie, set down his pipe, and stated that what would follow was a personal comment. He then told about when he was the editor of The Daily Texan, the campus paper at UT, that he had written an editorial against building the Tower, and went on to say, I”m sorry it has come to this, but I told you so.” He then tightened his tie, picked up his pipe, swung his chair back around, and went on with the news. BTW, my father was a student at UT when Cronkite wrote that editorial and confirmed that the editorial said the administration would regret building the Tower.
