Armed protests being planned at all 50 state capitols, FBI bulletin says [abcnews.
mcgeo52 comments on Jan 11, 2021:
In addition to the tips the FBI is getting, they are also getting full cooperation from the phone companies in using their logs to identify which phones were in the Capitol. Plus they have full access to the social media records. Somebody even scraped all of the evidence from Parler, after it was taken down, and sent it to the FBI.

Pelosi: House 'will proceed' to impeachment of Trump [apnews.
mcgeo52 comments on Jan 11, 2021:
The Article of Impeachment will pass this week. I am hearing Wednesday. But the Senate is in recess until the 19th and it would take a unanimous agreement to bring them back before then. Once the Article is delivered to the Senate they have to notify the White House so Trump can send someone to present his defense (I don't think insanity is allowable as a defense in an impeachment trial). That means the earliest the trial can start is Wednesday afternoon the 20th. Since it really won't make a difference at that point, I am hearing that Pelosi may choose to wait to deliver the Article until after more pressing matters are taken care of.
Enough said!

Hope this works. Pence the kingmaker?
mcgeo52 comments on Dec 29, 2020:
The idiots backing this nonsense don't have a clue what the law is. All Pence is allowed to do is announce the results, or recognize objections. If a member of the House and a member of the Senate sign a written objection to any state's electors, Pence has to recognize the objection and send the Senate back to their chambers for two hours. The House remains in their chambers for the two hours. At the end of the two hours Pence asks whether the House voted to accept the first slate of Electors, or the alternate slate, and he announces the Senate's vote on the question. Unless both houses vote for the alternate slate, the votes of the original slate, certified by the Governor, are counted. Since Governors have certified 306 votes for Biden the only thing the idiots will do is waste everyone's time. There is no way this changes the outcome.

The Democrats completely botched the impeachment. They should have included a bribery charge.
