Federal judge temporarily blocks Ohio's heartbeat bill
WayneDalton comments on Jul 4, 2019:
I fear it will not matter in the long run;spineless judges will still find a way to enact this law.why as a country,do we seem to be determined to regress?
mcgeo52 replies on Jul 4, 2019:
@WayneDalton, I don't believe that we, as a country, are regressing. The Republicans have done their best to rig the system (e.g., gerrymandering and vote suppression) and cheat (the last legitimately elected President was Eisenhower), so that the government does not truly reflect the will of the people. For all of their rigging and cheating the Republicans are a shrinking and dying minority. If we can survive the next election, I still have hope for our country.

@SeaGreenEyez, with all due respect, as someone who lives in a state with term limits, I will never support them. I remember when, before term limits, I could call my State Senator or Assembly Member with a problem and get it resolved, usually within a day or two. Now, by the time my elected representative figures out how to help me, they are termed out and gone. California is being run by the bureaucrats and the lobbyists. And I can't vote any of them out of office.

If they are here to apply for asylum, they have the legal right to do so. Trump is taking people who have reached the US and requested asylum and sending them back to Mexico. I think it would be a lot more fun to watch him perp walked out in handcuffs and stuffed into the back of US Marshall's car for delivery to his holding cell. I don't want him dead. I actually agree with Nancy Pelosi on this. I want to see him in prison, at least until he is executed for treason, along with his buddy, Bitch McCornhole.

@genessa, she knows that a sitting President will never be indicted or prosecuted by the DoJ. She knows that the only way to hold a sitting President accountable under the law is to hold an impeachment inquiry. I'm not saying we need Articles of Impeachment any time soon, but we do at least need an inquiry if the President is not above the law. She knows this. Do the math.

@jerry99, if you want the so-called young progressives and anti-corporists to vote for the Dem if Biden or one of the other moderates gets the nomination, you have to do two things: 1) Make the nomination process transparent and fair. The DNC is already meddling. That needs to stop. NOW. 2) Don't go out of your way to alienate the people who supported the other candidates. Hillary Clinton having Bernie's delegates locked out of the last night of the convention was a monumentally stupid move, and quite likely a factor in her loss.

@genessa, you said, "we have control over whom we choose in the primaries. " With the DNC telling the media who to cover, just like they did four years ago, and super delegates to make sure the DNC's candidate gets the nomination unless someone gets it on the first ballot (with 20+ people in the race, not likely), they are doing their best to rig it, just like four years ago. And we see how well that worked for them.
