@silverotter11, they were each elected as a result of treason: • Nixon because Kissinger interfered with the Paris Peace Talks, and • Reagan because GHW Bush interfered with the hostage release talks. Then it went down hill from there. • I would have to rate Reagan as far worse for the economy. We are still suffering the effects of trickle down. • With his busting of PATCO, and the demise of the unions that led to, I would have to rate Reagan as far worse for the middle class.

And, for the sake of argument, let's say we are both wrong about Hillary being a terrible candidate, and that you are right that it was the Bernie Bros that cost her the election. Should we try to learn something from that? I am not assuming that Trump will be the nominee in 2020, but it really doesn't make that much difference. Who ever the Republicans choose will be running against the backlash against the Republican tax bill. All the Democrats have to do to make the 2018 blue wave look like a ripple in a tea cup is run on taxes, taxes, taxes, and stay united. Could we please try to do that?

@clarkatticus, as I said, the DNC's defense was that their rules did not require a fair primary contest. You are right in saying she didn't break the rules. mcgeo52 replies on Feb 25, 2019:
@GuyKeith, since when does calling you on your BS make anybody a snowflake? The EVIDENCE SHOWS THE PRIMARIES WERE RIGGED IN FAVOR OF THE REPUBLICAN (i.e., the Goldwater Girl). 1) DWS resigned the first day of the Convention because the emails proved she had help rig the primaries. 2) The DNC was sued for running rigged primaries. Their defense? The did not argue they ran fair primaries. They argued they were not legally required to run fair primaries. That evidence is a matter of court record. Given the judgement in the case, it is a legal fact that the primaries were rigged. And because of the rigged primaries we were stuck with someone who, by your own words, "sucked as a candidate, and did not win." Why do I think Bernie could have beat Trump? While Hillary was busy speaking to rooms full of tens of donors, Bernie was speaking to stadiums full of tens of thousands of supporters. He did not suck as a candidate. You bitch and moan about the Bernie Bros. sticking us with Trump because they attacked Hillary, but then you engage in the exact same behavior against Bernie, who may well end up being the candidate against Trump. Are you really too stupid to understand what you are doing? Or are you a pro-Trump troll? You and the rest of the Hillbots need to, in your words, "grow the fuck up" and stop attacking anyone who might end up running against Trump.

A few of the students in my first period math class did the announcements over the PA during homeroom. They came in one day and one of the young ladies, Val, was obviously irritated. The teacher asked what the problem was. She said that the Principal told her that her culottes looked too much like pants and she could not wear them to school any more. It was a shame because she had made them and they looked really nice. The next morning when the crew arrived from the office they were all laughing. The teacher wanted to know what was so funny. Val explained that she had made the skirt she was wearing out of the same fabric and from the same pattern as the culottes. This was 1968 and the skirt was fashionably short. While she was doing her part of the announcements she had sat in the chair, titled it back slightly, turned to face the Principal and spread her legs. After blushing 20 shades of red and recovering from the shock he told her she could wear the culottes any time she wanted.

@GuyKeith, living in California, I had the luxury of being able to vote my conscience knowing that it would not help Trump. I wrote in Bernie as protest of the way the primaries were rigged. But I also contacted all of my friends in states that had any potential of being close and encouraged (in some cases begged) them to vote for Hillary. The biggest problem I had i trying to get people to vote for Hillary was that the best argument for it was that it was a vote against Trump. They were not at all excited about Hillary and whatever it was she might have stood for.

@GuyKeith, Bernie's people in the swing states were worried about Trump winning and tried to warn Hillary. She refused to listen. Michael Moore was very publicly worried about Trump winning. Bill Clinton tried to warn Hillary. She had such a sense of entitlement that she reused to even hear anyone who said she might not win. The American people voted for hope and change in 2008. They got precious little change, but still had hope so they re-elected Obama in 2012. They still wanted change in 2016, and Hillary was basically running on a platform of four more years. That wasn't working for a lot of people. The two candidates that tapped into that were Bernie and Trump. The fact is that HRC, DWS, and the DNC stole the nomination from the candidate who could have won. And, yes, it is a proven fact that they stole the nomination. DWS did not resign on the first day of the convention because she was having a bad hair day. Nor did the DNC offer a defense of innocence when sued for stealing the nomination. The defense they offered was that they were not legally required to provide for a fair nomination.

@Robecology,whether or not it is Pelosi depends on timing, and whether or not she wants the job. If Pence goes first (as I suspect will happen) tRump gets to nominate a new VP. The nomnee must be approved by a majority of the House and a majority of the Senate. Pelosi could very easily pull the Merrick Garland page out of McConnell's playbook, and block approval by the House. If she doesn't want to be President, she would have two choices: 1) Give tRump and McConnell a short list of people she would find acceptable, with the alternative being they get the Speaker as the new President. 2) Step aside temporarily as Speaker for someone on the short list then resume as Speaker. Interestingly the Speaker does not have to be a member of the House.

@Robecology, speaking of truth... Sen. Barry Goldwater, Ariz., the 1964 GOP presidential nominee, was a respected conservative leader in a Senate whose Republican ranks were less conservative than now. On Aug. 6, 1974, at the regular Senate Republican Conference lunch, Goldwater fumed: "There are only so many lies you can take, and now there has been one too many. Nixon should get his ass out of the White House -- today!" How things have changed. By Goldwater's standard, tRump would have never made it to February 2017.

So far, Mueller, SDNY, NY AG Letitia James, and Manhattan DA, Cyrus Vance, Jr. are all cooperating in their investigations. This is a very good thing.
