From what I have seen, Jared Kushner is in charge of profiteering for the Trumps. If there is proof of profiteering the state laws should be enforced and people sent to prison. BTW, a Presidential pardon for a state crime is worth even less than a promise from Donald Trump.

I have two first cousins who live near Houston. They are a few years younger than me, but not that many. The sister, Shannon, lives with her mom, my aunt Marylin in a house they bought. Shannon helps her mom and keeps an eye on her. Jay, the brother, has done very well for himself financially and is always jetting off on some trip. Shannon called me Monday evening to check in/check up on how I was doing. She told me that Jay had just returned from Spring Break in Mexico. He called and said he would be over to see them in an hour or so. Shannon said that since he had been out of the country he would have to wait 14 days to see their 80 year old mother with heart issues. He said that she was his mother and he was coming to see her. Aunt Marilyn took the phone from Shannon, said, "Fourteen days," and hung up. The truly sad part of this is an inside Texas joke. Shannon's an Aggie and she's the smart one.

In the overall scheme of things this may not sound like much, but I had to decide this week whether or not to temporarily close the open mic I have been hosting for almost four years. I knew the decision might not be popular with the performers or audience. After serious conversations with the other open mic hosts in Long beach, I am proud to say that we came to an almost unanimous decision to do what we believe to be the right thing and suspend our open mics until at least the end of the month and review the situation at that point. The one open mic not yet closed is held outdoors in an area that the owner believes has sufficient room to allow for social distancing. As I said, in the overall scheme of things, this might not sound like much. But, then again, one of our regular performers works at Disneyland, others also come in contact with large numbers of people, and being in Southern California we also draw a fair number of tourist.
