And it was not necessarily that we had parted physically. I moved from Texas to upstate NY in 8th grade, and to California in 12th grade. Ten years after college I reconnected with an old classmate from NY; the relationship was still there. A couple of years after that I reconnected with a friend from Dallas that I had not seen for almost 20 years. It was like finding a long lost brother. Then there are people who live within a half hour of here that I used to have a relationship with, but rarely see any more because we have both outgrown whatever it was that we had in common to begin with.
