@FrayedBear, since the program is designed to count the ballots, remote access absolutely makes a manipulation of the count possible. I can't think of any other reason to have such a back door.

I have been actively involved as audience, fan, listener in the Southern California folk/acoustic music scene since the early '70s. I run a website that members of this group might find of interest, http://acousticmusic.net. I will warn you that I haven't had much time lately to keep iy updated. I also started playing ukulele in August 2010 and by October of that year I was writing songs. I have developed an interesting niche doing protest songs on ukulele. Coming out of the folk scene, I am used to performers doing at least one gospel number in their set. I can do at least 30 minutes of religious songs as part of my set. Ok, I'll be honest, they are more like sacrilegious songs, and I am pretty much equal opportunity when it comes to which religions I offend. I also run an open mic every Wednesday evening in downtown Long Beach. If any of you are in the area, feel free to stop by and perform, or just listen.

Anybody here other than me love soy chorizo?
