@Mofo1953, the precedent I cited is that the Justices were required to ride circuit as well as preside as Justices. The fact that the law was changed and the no longer do so does not change the fact that they did so for most of 101 years. You said, "only becomes precedent when it happens, has never happened." The Supreme Court web site says it did. Accept the fact that there is precedent. This establishes precedent for Congress having the right to assign the judges to any position open to a federal judge. You have yet to cite any part of the Constitution that would need to be amended. Please stop projecting your misplaced pride on me.

@Mofo1953, take your own advice and learn to accept facts. "For the first 101 years of the Supreme Court’s life -- but for a brief period in the early 1800's -- the Justices were also required to "ride circuit," and hold circuit court twice a year in each judicial district." That one is from what I consider an authoritative source: https://www.supremecourt.gov/about/institution.aspx

@Mofo1953, the absolute precedent is that Supreme Court Justices were required to work as Circuit Court Judges, by law. Congress can amend the Judiciary Act of 1869 without a Constitutional Amendment, and do so in such a way that no person serves as a Supreme Court Justice for more than a given term. There is nothing in the Constitution that says otherwise.

Neoliberalism is responsible for the all time record inequality in wealth distribution that we have in this country. This level of inequality cannot be sustained. The BLM protesters and the right wing racists are both results, in part, of the economic disparity. The situation will only get worse unless we reject the neolibreal policies that got us here. We had the opportunity four years ago to elect someone who could have brought us down to a reasonably soft landing. Hillary Clinton, Debbie Wassermann Schulz, and the DNC cheated us out of that possibility. To be honest, I am not that hopeful for the future of this country even if Biden wins unless he moves sharply left in his first few months in office. In that case he could possibly pull of what FDR did in the '30s and prevent a full on revolution.

@BirdMan1, a couple of years ago I spent the time to look up and read the documents behind the OLC Opinion. The most solid argument behind the opinion is that prosecution is an act of the executive, and since the President is, per the Constitution, **the Executive**, there is an irresolvable conflict of interest in having the President prosecuted. I happen to agree with that argument. However, that argument does not even exist on the state level.
