I used to be an engineer and project manager, but gave that away to become Mike the Toolman in my local Bunnings. Lots lower pay but lots less pressure.
A Queenslander all my life, mostly Brissy but spent a few years in Rockhampton. I have travelled quite a bit, but there is a lot left on the bucket list. The list still includes Vietnam and Cambodia, Iceland, India, the Amazon, Galapagos Islands, Spain, Portugal, North Africa and lots more. Plus Australia.
Travel combines with another favourite – photography. I am only a mediocre snapper, but hopefully practice will improve that.
I have three wonderful daughters of whom I am rightly proud. Right now all of them are back living in SE Qld, which is great.
I am a functioning high-level introvert. By that I mean I am not shy, I get on very well with (most) people but I like people in small doses, I hate noisy crowded places and am very happy when by myself.
Fulltime work will probably change later in 2018. I plan to reduce my hours to part-time as a gentle introduction to eventual retirement.
