NIN - Gave Up How in the fuck have I not heard this one before!?
mikecagain comments on Jan 27, 2019:
I love the Broken EP. It kind of gets lost between Pretty Hate Machine and Downward Spiral. But it's really good. Trent's style really shifted from Broken to Downward Spiral. And Downward Spiral was so huge that I think it kind of swallowed up Broken. Also, I think Broken was viewed as a throwaway because it had so few original songs (two covers and a couple short instrumentals). But it has some really great work from Trent. The whole EP is definitely worth a listen.
Does anyone here watch The Orville???

I was always disappointed with Molly Hatchet. I mean, I like the music ok. But the music never lined up with that great band name and those amazing album covers. When I see a name like Molly Hatchet and I see that amazing cover art, I'm expecting to hear some great metal blast out at me, not country rock. Oh well.

Pixies - Where Is My Mind...Saw these guys in a bar, with Jane's Addiction, '85?
mikecagain comments on Aug 1, 2018:
Love the Pixies! Never saw them in their prime. I saw them a few years ago with Weezer. I missed seeing them when they came through Milwaukee this year. I'll probably regret that. I did see Janes at UWM shortly after Nothing's Shocking came out, before they really started to take off. That was a fun show. Seeing those two together in a bar so early in their careers must've really been something.
Best Metal covers! A few of my faves.

Being alone and feeling alone to me are different.
mikecagain comments on Aug 11, 2018:
Being alone, when it's by your choice, can be quite enjoyable. Feeling alone is an emotional thing. When you're with someone but you don't have that emotional connection, you can still feel alone. Are we harfwired? Maybe? I definitely think some people have a harder time finding that connection with others.
So another thread got me thinking about this.

mikecagain comments on Aug 19, 2018:
I always wondered if this song was meant to be pro or anti religion. I interpret it as an anti religion song. Kind of sarcastic, mocking the messages of the ministers. But I could see how it could be viewed as a pro religion message. Perhaps it's just random sound bites thrown on top of a beat with no real meaning.

I was raised Catholic. It was a long slow journey away and finally an epiphany that brought me to where I am. Honestly, as far back as I can remember, I could always find something about christianity that didn't add up for me. The epiphany came when I stopped making excuses for all those things that didn't add up, and accepted reality.
Right left right wrong?

mikecagain comments on Sep 10, 2018:
Interesting. I honestly haven't noticed that yet in my son. But it's hard to say. If he's being active playing games with other kids, there are still things that can set him off. But in general, he does seem to be in a happier place when he's running around being active.

Minority Report is a good movie.
mikecagain comments on Sep 17, 2018:
I haven't watched it a while, but agree it is a good movie. I really enjoyed it. It was based off of a book though. So they added some things based on the futurists suggestions that Philip K Dick didn't have in his book?
Feeling a bit bummed.

IMHO 'Dirt' is one of the best albums ever recorded.
mikecagain comments on Oct 5, 2018:
What an amazing lineup. Must've been a great time. I saw Alice in Chains live twice, but both were pretty early in their career. Once was opening for the Clash of the Titans tour (Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax), and the other time was opening for Van Halen. I think both of those shows were sometime in '91. AIC was great when I saw them, but I wish I would have seen them as a headliner.

mikecagain comments on Oct 9, 2018:
I haven't noticed a slump around here. The Brewers winning in the playoffs has most of the state excited right now. The Packers don't ever lose fans, even if they are playing like crap at the moment. And the Bucks are getting ready to open a new arena with a new coach and a positive vibe. Things feel like they are going pretty strong in this area.

If I do a member search at Agnostic and a member search at Humanist will I get the same results? Or will I need to visit both sites to make sure that I am seeing everything? The opt out seems like it will guaranty that the two sites are never in sync.
1985-What Were Your Favorite Songs?
mikecagain comments on Oct 10, 2018:
Nothing on that list for me. In '85 I was trying hard to avoid the mainstream music. I got a lot of my music from MTVs night time shows back then. Headbanger's Ball for my metal fix, and 120 Minutes for my alternative fix. In 1985 the Cure released The Head On The Door, which is still one of my favorite albums. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDMDb8unsIA
