Notice that the sign also specifically mentions "vegans" Do you know why? The Bible encourages the eating of meat. If it is healthier to not eat meat then that proves that Bible God is a fraud because he recommends a diet that is less heathier than a vegan diet.

Vegan, paleo, meatless Monday’s, intermittent fasting- thoughts?
nicknotes comments on Mar 19, 2018:
I'm a vegan and I think it was one of my best decisions to become a vegan. I used to have serious Asthma, and sinus problems. At the VA I was sent to see the nutrtionist. I told her I was eating pizza a couple of times each week. She recommended I stop eating cheese completely. I took her advice and after a couple of weeks I noticed that my sinuses were clear and I wasn't wheezing from Asthma. So I stopped eating all dairy products including eggs. I was never much of a meat eater and I soon drifted into veganism. My health is so much better. I get blood tests at the VA when I go to see my primary care doctor. All my numbers are greatly improved.

My theory is that there was a preacher named Jesus back then and he said a lot of intelligent sounding statements and gathered a group of followers. These followers speculated that Jesus was the Messiah promised in the Hebrew Scriptures. But then unexpectedly Jesus was arrested, crucified, and of course he couldn't be the Messiah. But his clever followers made up the story that he had been resurrected and was now in Heaven and that the reason he died was to atone for the sins of mankind. With this big lie in place the followers could then continue preaching, PASSING AROUND THE DONATION BASKETS, and gathering more stupid followers. And the sucessors of these charlatons have been doing this for almost 2000 years.

nicknotes comments on Mar 14, 2018:
Did Jesus Rise From the DEAD? Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence. What is the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus? An empty tomb story and questionable post mortem occurrences? If a body is missing from a tomb, do we assume that the corpse has resurrected? Or do we try and discover who moved the corpse? There are many possible explanations of why the corpse was moved. Ask me if you can't think of any. But Matthew's gospel appears to close the "loophole" with the guards on the tomb. But the guards on the tomb story is most certainly fiction. We have four gospel writers telling the same tale and yet only Matthew mentions guards. The guards are so important to the tale, that if it were true the other gospel writers would most certainly have mentioned the guards. But Matthew didn't close the loophole tight enough with his guards on the tomb fiction. Matthew 27:62-66 (New American Standard Bible) 62Now on the next day, [day in the Greek means daylight hours] the day after the preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered together with Pilate, 63and said, "Sir, we remember that when He was still alive that deceiver said, 'After three days I am to rise again.' 64"Therefore, give orders for the grave to be made secure until the third day, otherwise His disciples may come and steal Him away and say to the people, 'He has risen from the dead,' and the last deception will be worse than the first." 65Pilate said to them, "You have a guard; go, make it as secure as you know how." 66And they went and made the grave secure, and along with the guard they set a seal on the stone. So you see that Jesus' corpse was placed in the tomb, and the NEXT DAY, during daylight hours, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered together with Pilate, and requested a guard be placed on the tomb. THE FIRST NIGHT THE CORPSE WAS IN THE TOMB THE TOMB WAS UNGUARDED. Anyone could have opened the tomb, removed the corpse, and closed the tomb to conceal the fact that the tomb was now empty. So the empty tomb story proves nothing. But what about those that saw Jesus post mortem? We have Mary Magdalene. Mark 16:9 (New American Standard Bible) 9Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, He first appeared to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons. [See also Luke 8:2] I would expect that any woman with seven demons would be considered a crazy woman mentally ill in today's world. Jesus may have calmed her down so she appeared normal.[cured] But most likely the shock of Jesus' sudden death and the loss of his soothing words may have pushed her back into a state of delusion. In any event she was not a competent witness. But what about those 500 brethren who all saw Jesus at the same time post ...

Teachers + guns. I think it's a shit idea. What do you think?
nicknotes comments on Mar 13, 2018:
A teacher with a handgun would be out gunned by a shooter with an AR15. The effective range of a handgun is probably 30 feet. But the effective range of an AR15 is probably 300 yards. A shooter with an AR15 facing a shooter with a handgun down a long school corridor would not be a fair fight. The handgun would probably miss the target, may hit an innocent bystander, and would soon run out of bullets and need to reload. The AR15 would have the accuracy at long range, have more shots, the ability to reload more quickly, and a much higher rate of fire.

For "converts" to Atheism, what caused you to question your previous beliefs?
nicknotes comments on Mar 13, 2018:
In the Gospel attributed to Matthew, the gospel writer makes an extraordinary claim concerning world geography. He wrote that the devil took Jesus to the top of a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world. Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory Matthew 4:8 The disturbing thing is that this mountain does not exist. There is no mountain from which one can see all the kingdoms of the world. I’m sure the writer of the gospel realized that if he observed from a high place he could see a lot further than if he observed from a low place. But he didn’t know that there was no mountain high enough to see all the kingdoms of the world and certainly he did not know that the world is round. Matthew wasn’t present when supposedly the devil took Jesus up on that imaginary mountain, so we know that Jesus’ imaginary trip to the top of an imaginary mountain is just a fiction made up by Matthew or a later editor. Dishonest in one, dishonest in all. It only takes one lie to make a liar. Certainly we cannot trust the integrity of the gospel attributed to Matthew.
Most influential
nicknotes comments on Mar 12, 2018:
It is problematic on an Atheist Agnostic forum to say that the Bible has had the biggest influence of my life. As a yoiung child my mother started me learning to read by having me read the Bible. I was a Christian the majority of my life. I believed the Bible was a message to mankind from God so I studied incessantly to learn what God had to say. But then I was asked to lead a Bible Study at my Church. I wanted to do an excellent presentation so I studied each week and filled about a half dozen notebooks with notes. But strangely I began to notice problems with the Bible. Over a period of years I became more and more skeptical. I kept trying to harmonize the inconsistencies. Finally, I realized the only way to harmonize the Bible was to accept the fact that it is the greatest fraud perpetrated on mankind and God didn't inspire it and in fact there is no God.

BenefIts of books
nicknotes comments on Mar 9, 2018:
Do you remember the book 1984? In the book, 1984, all knowledge is on computers. In the story the key character has the job of editing history. Events that happened in the past were edited to fit what the authorities now wanted people to read if they researched an issue or an event. You can't do that with books. But as computers take over, Google can change history with a cut and paste.

* Cognitive dissonance is an uncomfortable feeling caused by holding conflicting ideas simultaneously. The theory of cognitive dissonance proposes that people have a motivational drive to reduce dissonance. They do this by changing their attitudes, beliefs, and actions. Dissonance is also reduced by justifying, blaming, and denying. * * Try using questions to inflict cognitive dissonance. * You will have to be slick and nonconfrontational as if you are trying to understand their position more clearly by asking questions. The questions must be designed to elicit conflicting ideas held by your pigeon. ?

I'm kinda courous about Neoteny and it's correlation in sexuality.
nicknotes comments on Mar 6, 2018:
The primary goal of all life is to procreate. IMO it is in our DNA to try and choose young people who are physically fit with whom to procreate. We know women past menopause can still have sex but they can't get pregnant. Older men also have their sexual problems like prostrate problems and erecrtile dysfunction. So our DNA tells us to find young people with whom we should have sex. If a person LOOKS younger we are fooled to pursue them for sex. So it is advantageous if one can improve their appearance to look younger than they really are. The beauty aids manufacturers are cashing in on this. Science has all the answers.

I’ve been shot in combat.
nicknotes comments on Mar 5, 2018:
In what war did you serve? I served in Viet Nam. [US Army] I think you are right about the guns. More guns are more dangerous. When I was in combat I worried about the enemy shooting me....but I also worried about getting shot by a friendly. I think the solution is to ban assault weapons, magazines over 6 rounds, and very strict backround checks. The NRA has reinterpreted the 2nd ammendment to suit the gun manufacturers. When George Washington took office, the standing Army was only 800 men. Each state had its own militia of citizen soldiers who could be rallied in an emergency. The Militia Act of 1790 required that every able bodied male 18-45 years old had to possess a gun in case the militia was called up. When you examine the 2nd Ammendment in light of these circumstances you can see the real meaning of the ammendment. People tend to forget the words "well regulated" in the 2nd Ammendment. Is was never meant that any idiot could buy a gun.
