Condensed version: I was raised in a Christian (and somewhat racist & ignorant) family in NE Oklahoma. Although she would later deny saying it, when I was growing up mom would say “You can go to church with a spanking or you can go to church without a spanking”. It took me until my 40’s to really start seriously questioning my religious brainwashing and have since been trying to sort out the resulting anger at it all. Now in my 50’s, I fully realize just how screwed up religion makes the world and especially the US and especially politics in the US. I’m a US Navy veteran & Army NG retiree. I am really needing some good solid non-religious friends. I am no physical fitness junkie (can be a bit lazy) but like to get out occasionally to camp, hike, canoe & just generally explore
