Hell, I talk to about anybody & everybody. The supermarket, waiting rooms, waiting for a light to change,...you never know when a conversation will teach you something or find you a new friend! I just a few hours ago had a half-hour conversation with two JW's on my front porch! I didn't get aggressive or insulting, tho I did state my case. Right from the get I said I was an active atheist that had read the bible! I listened as much as I spoke (as hard as that might be to believe!!!). I always want to leave folks with a smile rather than a frown, even if my chronic pain is raging, I know it's not their fault! I will never write the 'Great American Novel', or achieve world peace, but I can leave folks feeling a little better when I depart (no smarmy comments to that, please, LOL!) I tease & talk with all the staff at my local supermarket all the time, & even if they weren't before, they are usually smiling after we interact. My little contribution to try & make the world a better place! Better than nothing, anyway!

This ABC's is very well done. I'll comment on some of it, tho I won't go into my own 'pain' "management" that the VA 'provided' me! I've done the withdrawal/cold turkey thing a few times with the VA. That pendulum swing has been all too visible there. & as to your chart of withdrawal symptoms, I have to add "restless leg"/cramps, which to an extent were worse than the others because they manifested when I was so exhausted & tried to sleep, & once relaxed even a little would start & drive me almost crazy(er)!!! No sleep for days, increased pain which led to increased depression/anxiety, which led to...hell! & NO help. I have arthritis & Degenerative Disc Disorder, Fibromyalgia, GERD with Barrett's esophagus, heart problems that led to the implantation of a defibrillator, chronic migraines & chronic depression. Not a fun cocktail as they all work with each other to exacerbate each other! Methadone was one of the list of drugs prescribed at one time to control pain. I don't think I'll relapse, but I am searching for any decent alternative, maybe weed is the at least partial answer. I avoided it for years while the VA supplied opioids, as that would have cut off the meds! Suicide is always an option that waits in the wings. My depression has often led me in that direction, & untreated chronic pain just makes it all so much worse. I remember Paregoric being used as a cough suppressant when I was a kid. That & codeine & terpin hydrate. & as I got a bit older I saw many "real" junkies using these in lieu of the availability of heroin!

No, it's not. & folks are free to kill themselves in whatever manner they choose, in my opinion. If she feels ok, now, good for her, but stuff does tend to catch up with you, whether it's excessive weight, smoking, over-use of certain drugs or drink, & the list goes on. If one is an adult, the choices are theirs. Since I don't know this woman I have no real interest or concern in whatever she does. Just please, when you do stroke out or have an early heart attack, don't fall on me!
