I lost my last "real" relationship because she couldn't cope with my emerging health issues. We are still friends, & even family in many ways, but she could not accept me not being able to "get over" my medical issues, & not just pulling myself up by my bootstraps or working through the situation. That is why I am not in favor of "banning" some religious proselytizers from this site, unless they get to the point of harassment. I think we need that bit of contrast in the stew lest it become bland & spoil.

I think I consider myself lucky also for being a bit older & not being brought up on "social media". Even television was not a huge part of my early life, so I have not been sucked in quite as much. But there is most definitely an addictive quality about all this, for example, as much as I love this site, how much time do you spend here? & then add in any other "phone" or computer time. A study was done, about early 2000's I believe, that showed that people who primarily watch FoxNews for their information on current events are consistently incorrect about said current events. In other words, watch Fox & become misled. @btroje I agree, but still, the idea of the treatment is just as frightening, to me, as the thought of either chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Maybe more so, as my brain would be involved.
