That being said, most of those in the 'disenfranchised' groups do have legitimate & righteous grievances, many of them long-lasting & systemic. Our shelters are so full of cats, & dogs, but mostly cats, that as sweet as she is her odds of getting a home are slim. We won't do that to her. My Mom & I weren't looking for another indoor pet by any means, but we can't 'put her out' or deposit her in a shelter, so she may be ours! It helps that she's a sweetie & a cutie!
