I'm not much looking forward to the dying part. Think of your phone as a living thing. It eats electricity, and you spend your hours staring at its asshole. There's your purpose of life.

Trump produced numerous tweets criticizing Obama’s handling of the Ebola outbreak, so Trump had understanding and concern about pandemic outbreaks. He later took similar actions that he criticized Obama for. In 2015, Obama’s Susan Rice established the White House Global Health Security and Biodefense unit tasked with being responsible for pandemic preparedness. In 2017, the Obama administration walked incoming Trump administration officials through a pandemic scenario. Officials were told a pandemic would likely lead to shortages of ventilators. In May 2018, the GHSB pandemic preparedness team was disbanded and its head Timothy Ziemer, left the Trump administration. On January 29, 2019, the DNI (Director of National Intelligence) issued an annual report that warns on page 29 that, “The United States will remain vulnerable to the next flu pandemic or large-scale outbreak of a contagious disease that could lead to massive rates of death and disability, severely affect the world economy, strain international resources, and increase calls on the United States for support.” In 2019, from January to August, the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services conducts a simulated exercise with 12 U.S. States to respond to a severe influenza pandemic originating in China. The question is whether the public will react to the increasing death toll caused by opening up.
