Thrust in almost any direction would set the object to spinning, decreasing the effect of the thrust. If water was present as described, why didn't it evaporate/sublimate leaving a trail? I don't know that such an extreme prolate ellipsoid has been seen among any comets. Hydrogen outgassing might be AN answer, but at a likelihood comparable to that of an alien probe.
