But on our tiny dot of a microcosm, opinions are used for various purposes that have importance in the context of our limited existence, even if only by honing our comprehension and communication skills. There is no shortage of self-hating people, and they come in various forms. The roles of maleness and femaleness are already ridiculous and mostly artificial. That someone would wish to assume the role of female and mutilate themselves to do it indicates confusion at best. When that person then insists on disrupting a female athletic competition, that indicates disrespect to the point of hostility.
From a scientific perspective, if the person does not have two XX's or a natural female body, they should not be competing in female athletics. Forcing women to compete against modified men (claiming to be female) is unfair, and effectively destroys female athletic competition.

However, selectively seeking Black women to staff police departments is neither legal, ethical nor practical. One problem is that many Black people have their own biases. Quite a few revere Farrakhan, who is as ugly a bigot as any neonazi. Many other biases are often harbored against Hispanics, LBGBT, Jews, as well as whites. Again, singling out Black women as the only suitable candidates for law enforcement is absurd.
As for medical issues, Blacks (or any race) must share responsibility for their own bad decisions. To be sure, the conditions of white supremacy that fostered bad decision-making are there, but people are not robots and their choices are at least partly their own. In the current example, Blacks remain loyal to the Christianity that enslaved them. Blacks choose to consume food that brings on severe health problems. As currently noted, Blacks are most resistant to taking the vaccine, even though they are most vulnerable to Covid.
We all have work to do for ourselves and our loved ones. It might seem hopeless sometimes, but our effort defines us. We must hope that making responsible decisions will elicit the respect needed to be treated humanely.

At the Scopes trial, though, he was forced to admit that he did not understand America’s growing consensus about science and religion. Nor did he offer a satisfying explanation for his opposition to the teaching of evolutionary theory.

Without an invitation, Bryan volunteered to help prosecute Tennessee teacher John Scopes, who stood accused of breaking a new Tennessee law against the teaching of human evolution. Bryan’s participation helped elevate the modest test case into a worldwide spectacle. At the time, Bryan was one of America’s leading culture warriors, attacking the teaching of evolutionary theory in public schools as anti-Christian and anti-American.
At the Scopes trial, though, he was forced to admit that he did not understand America’s growing consensus about science and religion. Nor did he offer a satisfying explanation for his opposition to the teaching of evolutionary theory.
At least, that’s how his detractors saw it. As one New York Times reporter related, when Bryan took a seat in the witness stand to defend his anti-evolution ideas, “There was no pity for his admissions of ignorance … his floundering confessions that he knew practically nothing of geology, biology, philology, little of comparative religion, and little even of ancient history.”
In the eyes of many elites at the time, then, Bryan’s performance seemed to herald the end of the anti-evolution crusade. One popular 1930s history explained that “civilized opinion everywhere” was revolted by Bryan’s anti-evolution ignorance. Into the 1950s, leading historians repeated the mistake, with one declaring that the trial sent Bryan’s movement into “a period of rapid decline.”
But predictions of creationism’s demise were wrong. Anti-evolution sentiment did not die with Bryan’s swan-song testimony. In fact, it grew more radical.
How did elites get it so wrong?
They didn’t understand that they did not think like Bryan’s supporters. While Bryan's performance cost him credibility with elites, their derision only made him more of a hero with his followers.
Hearing the laughter and reading the cruel words, Bryan’s fans did not abandon their creationist beliefs. Instead, they dug in. They recognized that their ideas about science and religion were no longer respected in mainstream institutions and began building an alternative set of institutions to propagate their beliefs.

I can see beauty in matter by itself, the specular rainbow pixels glisten everywhere. As for human forms, so much of what we perceive has been manipulated by Hollywood and Madison Avenue.
I do not give my friend nor a god credit for how I perceive her. She knows she has good looks, but she also knows she has severe problems; instability, ignorance and low self-esteem. Sadly, her looks contrast sharply with her anger and her depression. I can only suppose she gets a dose of both by whatever media she relies on.

On other social media, I get frustrated reading the nonsense coming from Trumpers. Today I got a note from an old associate who mentioned that Biden voted against funding a prolonged evacuation from Saigon. What was that, like 45 years ago? My response was deleted claiming it was classified as bullying!! I have never been a fan of LinkedIn nor Facebook, and they have distinguished themselves as lying mercenary sites that need serious regulation.

The Catholics realize that a huge backlash against Catholics will develop as the Supreme Court starts to overturn the few progressive decisions that have improved our society.

That depends on how far the Supreme Court goes. If they did overturn Roe, the ACA, and LBGTx unions, then yes. As more people grasp that they are negatively affected, the backlash will be bigger. Also, if they continue to obstruct access to birth control.
