This is bullshit. The Lawrence-Livermore's Nuclear Ignition Facility was featured in the 1982 movie Tron. They've been tweaking that concept for 40 years and even with the press release, remain miles away from actual break-even. I'm all for science and would love if science and scientists were given all the funding they could use. But, science is budgeted and some projects are much more deserving than others. This announcement is a plea for more money to be spent on a demonstrably unworkable method that will never be commercialized (which should be the goal). Other fusion concepts provide vastly more likely outcomes. This is not the time to be pandering to corruption, even in science.

The Constitution disappeared a long time ago. We all know about 14-3's injunction against those engaging in sedition. Thousands of assholes engaged in exactly that on Jan 6 but we've seen, what, one person stopped from seeking office. But not one, NOT ONE person has been tried and convicted of what is surely the most televised and recorded coup. (most of them got slaps on the wrist) How about the corruption of the 2nd Amendment? Where is that effing filibuster? How about who gets to vote - - land-owning males only... Revering wisdom is a good thing, and the Constitution is that. But let's face it, it is 240 years old, badly corrupted, and seriously out of date. Not that our society has the maturity nor integrity to consider a revision. So, we are stuck with a bad joke but the joke is on us. Trump is a dangerous puppet, but his outrageous BS is just more stick-in-the-liberal-eye virtue-signaling to his fellow Christian fascists.
