As we've seen with the debt-ceiling crisis, defaulting on the debt would devalue the dollar and throw the economy into chaos. These risks are heightened by the level of debt. Thus, Ms. Kelton's lecture is bullshit propaganda, most likely composed in a right-wing think tank.
