Congratulations on having a gratifying experience. Even better if you can apply something you learned. A lot of different experiences are possible from meditation or drugs, but unless they can provide actual new information that can be shared and put to use, where are you going with the story? If you think you have established contact with God, where is that going to take you? Are you getting credit for your achievement? Why do you need that credit? When you can bring back an insight that can be conveyed and helps others besides yourself, then let the world know. I'll share this. In the high of psilocybin, I repeatedly perceive a symmetric mandala that becomes infinitely fine in the center, and this perception seems perfect and complex enough that it suggests a spiritual origin. But that's it. Given it's repeatability, I can't rule out that this is a drug-induced pattern, in spite of its intriguing character. Really, the same applies to all the visual hallucinations. The experience is intriguing, but NOT instructive. No insightful information is gained. The reality is that people have been taking drugs and meditating for thousands of years, but no religion has ever come up with new, valid information about our reality.

Instead of going into work, I was scheduled to take a training class 15 miles south. As I passed the airport, my car failed. I pulled into a hotel and in the lobby, the TV was showing the 1st tower on fire. When a particle is accelerated to near the speed of light, and collides with another particle, the kinetic energy translates into a zoo of subatomic particles. Where do they all come from? Apparently, they are always there as virtual particles, but don't have the energy to manifest. When that energy becomes available, they go from being virtual to physical. The same for certain nuclear decay paths. A nucleus in a high energy state drops to a lower state by manifesting neutrinos. Or, a positron and an electron collide to generate two or three photons. At that scale, mass and energy are more interchangeable, given the right conditions. And, as with black holes, they can collapse into a non-physical singularity, with only gravity remaining. 3rd, ask yourself why it matters. What would you do with the information if you had it? There's so much to learn, if you're really curious, and you will be glad you tried. The science is not just-so bullshit as religion is.

The movie suggested that the ecosystem had collapsed, and we do seem to be on our way. Religionists are taught from birth to lie as part of their religion. This is curious insofar as lying is one of the most basic violations of our moral code. Moral people know immediately when they consider telling a lie. All healthy people understand what lying is, and that it is immoral... And yet, religionists develop their dishonesty into a talent, telling just-so stories with a straight face, or as straight as they can manage. This is the essence of testifying or witnessing for god. The absurdity of these lies are often breath-taking, and one wonders at how people rationalize this perfidy in front of a god that can read their minds. Do they have no hesitation at what god thinks of their dishonesty? Mainly, this disregard for basic morality paves the road for the miserable conduct they go on to do for the rest of their lives.

Mexico has been struggling to legalize cannabis. A judge has mandated that the legislature develop legal code to support it. It was supposed to happen last November, then April 1, and now December 15. Legalization in the US has cut into the 50 billion/year that used to go to Mexico for cannabis. The cartels have many other avenues of income.
