Stephen Hawking stated that mankind will not last beyond 100 years.
steve148 comments on Jan 4, 2018:
I believe that short of a dinosaur type asteroid hitting the earth and killing all but some insects, man will survive. What we do know is that the end of the solar system will come in about 5 billion years from now. Perhaps we'll be smarter by then.

Children: Yes or no?
steve148 comments on Jan 3, 2018:
I have two kids and I love them both. When they were small the pleasure I received as I watch the look of amazement on their faces with each new experience EX: A Lori bird landing on a finger to consume an apple slice she was holding. Or when she jumped on my lap and started swiping her hand back and forth across my chest. I asked her what was she doing. Her reply was mom said we should butter you up. We want to go to magic mountain. Now they're grown and they only call when they want money. lol

The world is growing more and more disgusted with Donald Trump.
steve148 comments on Jan 3, 2018:
The greatest damage to the US is his judicial appointments. That affect will linger for generations. I really hope he doesn't get another chance at the supreme court. As far as the world view, I think depending on who our next leader is world view can change positively as easily as Trump has changed it negatively. The negative effect on the environment may has more negative lasting effects.

7 yrs ago I met a girl on the internet much younger then myself. She lives in the Philippines. We spoke on line for 8 months at which time I decided to travel to the Philippines to meet her. We lived together in the Philippines for 2 months. Everything was great.. I was planning to bring her back to the US and started the paperwork. While going through the application it came out. She was married, separated 12 yrs earlier. I asked her if she was married before I traveled to meet her. She lied. At that moment She lost all credibility in my eyes. I ended it that day.

Food for Thought.....
steve148 comments on Jan 2, 2018:
When I was in grade school I remember my teacher explaining about different cultures and accepted greetings around the world. He told the story of a group of archeologists traveling and meeting primitive peoples. As they chanced upon an undiscovered society their first instinct was to greet them with a smile. They were immediately killed. It turns out that the smile was interpreted as a growl (such of a big cat). They viewed it as a prelim to an attack. So use a cautious grin instead. lol

steve148 comments on Jan 2, 2018:
Have you tried wearing a hat? I can't understand why so many people are hung up on their natural appearance? Why are so many uncomfortable in their own skin? I recall watching Americas got talent. There was a woman who was the sole survivor of a plane crash. She had sever burns on her face (probably all over her body). Did those wounds make her less talented? or less loved by her family? I think thinning hair or an extra 20 lbs of weight just seems so superficial. Love who you are.
