Another excellent read is, "Horseman on the Roof", by Jean Giono. It's about a cavalier who gets caught in the area along the border of France and Italy at the height of the black plague. They made a movie of it many years ago. He also wrote another excellent novel about the Lombardi region. This one was about the internecine war between the Lombardi region in the north, and the groups from around Napoli. A good was to understand the culture that is being debated now in Lombardi.

It is true that members of both parties are owned by various corporations. But to equate their evilness as equal is spurious. As oral traditions go, they remain pretty true to the main concept but details change with every telling and every story teller. The Bible was first written in 325 CE at the First Council of Nicea, modified again at the Second Council and the Council of Rome. Constantine brought notable elders in, they recounted their oral stories and selected those they wanted to keep, and discard or ignored those they didnt want. They tended to be patriarchal and omitted a number of the female chapters. So in essence the Bible was written 300 years after the so called Christ lived.

That alone renders it unreliable as each teller puts his/her own spin on it to accommodate their telling style. The stories were collected together at the First and Second Councils of Nicea in 325 CE. The Council collected the various stories, picked those that were the most patriarchal ( I doubt they consciously intended to do that) constructed the first Bible.

I do not know if you are an educator or in the education field, but my experience is contrary to your argument. Having taught for 31 years at the high school level, in six different schools, I find religion was a significant part of every school culture. I have taught First Nation for 21 years (and still am). and Ive taught in main stream culture for 10 years. In all that time, the theists drove the culture, if not directly, then indirectly. It was unsafe carreerwise to profess it be known as an atheist or agnostic. When theist teachers or Adminstrstors thought it necessary, they always inserted their beliefs and religious opinions into the circumstance. It was unwise or unacceptable to contradict or challenge them. And I am not known as a shrinking violet. I have fought social, cultural, and racial injustice my entire adult life. Most of the time against my own white privilege peers much to their dismay. But in all that time I knew there was a line I could not cross and keep my job. That line was challenging the ardent theists on the staff. I could council for tolerance and point out errors in stereotypes and judgements. But if a theist wanted a prayer at an assembly, even if half the population were not Christian, it was dangerous to challenge as most teachers are Chrisrian, as are most Administrators, and most parents in the country. Even in First Nation (at least in my present community). Although that wasn't true in my first First Nation community, there Native culture and beliefs were still more intact than many tribes. I worked for the CDC the summer of 2007. Their scientists are the best in the world. There protocols are almost beyond question. They take their work as serious as a Navy Seal on mission. The reason that the last three pandemics were not any worse is because of the CDC and their methods. I know its popular to criticize an agency because it part of our bureaucracy. But they in no way resemble other agencies.

I got to thinking about my comment. As can be seen from the phylogeny of the Pongids, Gorilla split with our ancestors around 10 million years before present (MYPD). This actually post-Mesozoic (which ended 65 MYPD). Gorillas branched from the Pongids (Oranatang). Panini (chimps) branched from gorillas. We are 99% genetically similar to chimps. Less than 1% makes us different from chimps. So I stand corrected on the connection between gorilla lineage and our lineage. I'm not wrong on the contemporaneously evolution of our two species.
