@Happy_Killbot You claim that re-distribution is part of the Libertarian philosophy. You are the first Libertarian Ive ever encountered who take this stance. I agree with the short comings of earlier Socialists regimes. But laizzez faire does not work. As history proves over and over again. People are not naturally altruistic and that in itself is the downfall of libertarianism. In my experience the majority of persons pushing libertarianism are among the least altruistic I've met.

@WilliamFleming While I respect your well thoughtout argument, I still disagree with your conclusions. I fully appreciate that great men like Einstein. Oppenheimer, Planck, etc., were believers, but I question their motivation for believing. Something that usually goes unspoken or unchallenged. I believe they were, despite their obvious brillance, products of their culture and environment. I rarly engage in religious arguments on this site, I find them fruitless and not interesting to me. I walked away from religion 45 years ago and never looked back. I fought those battles a millenia ago and have moved on. Not to denegrate you or your opinions in anyway. @WilliamFleming With all due respect, I disagree with your premise. The scientific paradigm and the faith-based (i.e. religion) are IMO mutually exclusive. They cannot be reconciled together. as the method each chooses to substantiate conclusions are opposed in almost all ways. As far as leading scientists believing in religion contemporaneous with their science, I truly believe they thought they did. But to try to reconcile science with religion is to serve two masters so to speak. Usually when splitting such loyalties, one must make compromises at the expense of the other. Most scientist, like everybody else are usually born into, and raised in a society that espouses some form of religion. As such, we are raised throughout our lives with religious symbolism. Its on our money that we use everyday (In God We Trust). We are indoctrinated early on with the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule. The symbolism is all around and ubiquitous. As such, it takes a strength of character to fight against that indoctrination and the weight of societies opinions. I have no doubt regarding the strength of these scientists intellect, but not in their strength of character. Even Darwin was unable to shed the weight of the Church of England up to his dearh. Can you imagine how much further he MIGHT have been able to take his principles of evolution had he not been fettered by his fear of the church and his religion? As to your conjecture tegarding the infinite "Why". Without sounding too pedantic, IMO opinion that is a superfluous and meaningless question as to itself. If one has a solid foundation in physics, and evolutionary principles that question is meaningless except at the beginning of a new line of inquiry. Here's where the pedantic comes in. Everything in the entire Universe is interrelated. In physics they talk about String Theory, in biology and evolution we talk about habitats, biomes, climate, organisms, etc. The point being at some level all things are part of larger system, and those systems are part of larger systems, and so on. In a sense this not too dissimilar to the idea of the Universe as working like a giant clock. For every movement of one mechanism in the clock, another is affected and therefore responds in kind. Although this is a much to simplistic analogy for the complexities of the relationship between the Natural and Physical Laws, you get the idea. Once one has an understanding of these Laws and the interelationships, the question "Why" becomes superfluous. It works because of it interconnectedness to the system in which it dwells and operates. Exceptions do appear at random, but just that they are exceptions. They too are dealt with according to the Natural Laws and Principles. They do notvremain ...

Given your background in mathematics, do you believe in absolutes? I am a scientist and a 30 year science teacher. As such I do not feel that religion and science exist on the same plane of intellectual honesty. The voids that we experience is science is the void that occurs when a new unasked question arises spurring on a new avenue of inquiry. I do not concur with your relatavistic equating of the two philosophical approaches. Science is not fallible, but at least it has the ability to address its mistakes built in to the scientific process. Yes both are grappling with the dark, but there is a world of difference between how the two grapple with that darkness. Your attempt to sound erudite in your post comes off sounding disingenuous and somewhat pedantic.

If the person is guilty or the facts take the the answers on a given direction, its not the questionnaire or the questioners doing, but the respondent. The questions were stated such that the respondent was always guilty or answering in a way that biased the only responses they could give. Sort of like a perjury trap. It was an unfair line of questioning ad inadmissible as such. Called leading the witness.

@Renickulous "Gaslighting" - to say something unture long enough that people begin to believe its true. Gaslighting - conflating Clinton' motivation for accepting money from Russia for a guest appearance versus Trump laundering Russian oligarch money (this will be demonstrated in the SDNY and SDV law suit) in the near future, along with setting up a Trump Hotel. Gaslighting - extolling Trump's exoneration in the Mueller report. Not true, substantial knowledge of Russian intervention in the campaign and knowledge by Trump and his family. Enough links were found to infer, but not enough direct evidence to bring felony charges. (Chapter One of Mueller Report). They could not find direct evid4rnce of a CRIMINAL INTENT to commit conspiracy, but ample evidence to engage in collusion. Gaslighting - that Trump was not guilty of Obstruction of Justice. 10 specific counts were outlined by Mueller (Chapter Two). They were lain out so that a prosecutor could bring charges agsinst Trump when he left office, as Mueller is a procedural person and chose not to go against the DOJ memo.

t1nick replies on May 1, 2019:
@Renickulous Not true. The first 100 pages of Mueller's report laid out beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Rusdians did insert themselves into the campaign and the election. He also certfied that the Russian interference did impact the outcome of the election. Because of the DOJ memo regarding indicting a sitting president, Mueller was not at liberty to bring a felony indictment. He intimated that collusion occurred at various levels. Furthermore, Mueller laid out 10 places in Chapter Two of the report whereby the AG could bring charges against Trump for Obstruction of Justice. Mueller laid out a clear cut case whereby he proved that any other explanation other than Trump obstructing justice was not possible. For the reasons stated above Mueller felt it was the AG's job to bring the necessary charges. Unfortunately the AG chose to mislead the American public without even reading the evidence (his admission today) summarizing the report findings. He chose to act as the president's lawyer and PR spokesperson instead of the people's lawyer which is his real job. It will cost him. Now, I do not know if you do not understand the nuances and implications of all the events occurring, or are purposely acting in denial as a matter of stubborn intractability. Your intransigence is noteworthy as an example of how Trump supporters are incapable of facing facts and the truth.

@WilliamCharles Let me back up. Your reading of the Mueller report is very off base in my opinion. Obstruction of Justice was well documented in Chapter Two of the report. The Russian connection was incomplete. There was there there, just not enough to bring a incontrovertible slam dunk felony conviction. There is so much baggage around Trump, the run up to the election, and Hillary that I personally ferl that Mueller tread too lightly and kit gloved. As far as Hillary goes, the Democrats and the Republicans ran the most sexist campaign against her of almost any candidate in our living memory. She was so much more accountable and unfairly scrutinized than any candidate before, or after. I wouldn't vote for Hillary. She is a flawed candidate, some her own doing, some done against her. Yes Tulsi is intriguing, but doesn't have the support to stay the course. I like Kamala and Klobechar. Warren is by far the best female politician, but has the same type of baggage with that was her created by Trump that he created for Hillary
