@Matias Alright pause in housework, now I can answer morw thoroughly. Lol Its not do much that the "selfish genes" care on a conscious level, but they do care of sorts. There are physical laws that regulate and more or less control what is possible and what is not posdible (and I always point to the fact that are always exceptions). Evolution follows these physical laws and the selfish genes follow evolutionary laws. Therefore, if evolution on the larger scale acts to preserve the fittest organisms and weed out the less fit, then it follows that genes work hand-in-hand with evolutionary principles. Therefore on a genetic level they must care, not as you or I do on a conscious level, but care enough to adapt and perserve.

t1nick replies on Mar 16, 2019:
I have taught high school science in the Native American community for 20 years. Most of my experience is in Arizona and New Mexico. One fall I was socializing with a gentleman of the Lokota tribe in Santa Fe. He pulled me aside and in a low voice asked if I wanted to know a secret. Conspiratorially I answered , "Sure". He went on, "I bet you didnt know that Custer never died during the Little Big Horn battle?" I of course answered , "No,." He went on. ,"Custer was grievously wounded during the batlle, but was still alive when all his other soldiers were dead." The Lakota recognizing Custer and respecting him for his strong medicine, spared his life that day. My brother Lokota took the wounded Custer westward to their brethren the Minneconjou Sioux tribe. The Minniconjou spirited him northward to southern Canada (Saskatchewan). They met up with another tribe, the Brule Sioux where he was kept and allowed to heal. Supposedly, Custer lived out his life among the Brule brethren where he had eventually died of old age." My friend looked at the quizzical look on my face. After a short silence, he continued, "This is a secret among my people. It was never known to the outside world.," He smiled and assured me it was true. I have no reason to believe or disbelieve him. He was an honest individual in my experience. Who am I to question. Its not only the mainstream that had its conspiracy theories. Lol. I hope you enjoyed.

To answer your query. Trump could care less about the Constitution, he's about Trump. Are there people in DC working to undermine the Constitution? Yes, but they do not recognize it as such. The entire GOP right now is complicit in undermining the Constitution by going along with Trump and not calling him out when his Administration tramples on the Constitution. The majority see it as tribal politics, but in reality by backing Trump on his actions, they are essentially undermining the Constituion. Trump operates on a letter of the law philosopy, not a spirit of the law philosopy. That is to say he mines lookholes, or technecalities to circumvent the laws that benefit him directly Example #1: The attack on the media as "eninmies of the people". Whether you like th media or, liberal or conservative, the mainstrem press is the 4th Estate. It is there as a check and a balance on all government, all levels and all branches. Example #2: The recent crisis on the southern border. The facts are clear that the help that is required on the border is at the check points with new technology. A bollard wall might be helpful at various geographical locations to add to what already exists. But the call by Trump and his followers is a ruse, as the crossings in the widerness to which they allude are not there. Crossings do happen, but not in the numbers suggsted by the Administration. A Humanitarian crisis does exisat, but its by assylum seekers which actually willing turn themselves in at the border for processing. By creating a crisis and using this as an excuse to declare a National Emergency he has circumvented the Congresses authoirity and responsibility. the "Power of the Purse String." He is the first president (I think) to grab funds for soemthing that Congress directly voted down on a bi-partisan vote oin both houses. His crisis is not equivalent to previous National Emergencies, as it is artificially created to feed his base. Example #3: Emoluments clause. This one is fairly straght forward. He continues to conduct personal business while acting as President. He, and his family, has used the Office of the President to further their personal profit for their companies. Whether it is Ivanka using the officia lgovenment delegation opportunities and foreign visits to secure her patents on her private product lines, or forging access to foreign markets for her products. This was done as she was operating as an official representative of the govenment. Or the use of the Trump Hotel in DC, or Mar A Lago, to house offical govenment visitors while pocketing the profits from the exhorbitant prices charged. Example #4: Providing classified intelligence to the Russians. His meeting shortly after taking office with the Russian ...

@Trajan61. it just happens that you are correct. The US is first and Russia is second. Suadi Arabia comes in third. I relent this point. Your first correct post. United States The economy looks poised to have recorded its best performance in over three years in the second quarter, fueled notably by recent tax cuts and strong consumer dynamics. However, growth may have reached its peak, as mounting trade concerns heighten risks to the outlook. Average retail sales growth in Q2 reached a 6-year high, supported by robust consumer confidence and an improving labor market throughout the quarter—with labor participation rising in June. Meanwhile, industrial output recorded solid increases in each of the three months of the second quarter. On the other hand, survey data for June shows heightening concerns about supply-side strain, magnified by the sizeable uncertainty caused by recent escalations in trade tensions and tariff measures. This uncertainty will likely drag on growth going forward, particularly if the U.S. administration goes ahead with tariffs on USD 200 billion of additional Chinese goods, as unveiled on 10 July. https://www.focus-economics.com/blog/economic-outlook-for-the-top-oil-producing-countries 2019 Economic Outlook for the Top Oil Producing Countries

t1nick replies on Mar 15, 2019:
I do not agree. The Jewish people originated in the part of the Levant known today as Isreal. Archaeologically and genetically Isreal and Babylonia are the homeland of the Jews. The Jewish people have been the victems of innumeable diasporas through history. The idea that the Jews of Eorope wanted to return their homeland after the atrocities of WWII is not hard to undetstand. Throughout their history outside of Isreal, whenever they were subjected to a diaspora, the natural inclination was to return to their homeland. Some made it, some settled on the way in the lands they crossed. The Balfour Agreement and the White Paper were poorly enforced and administeted by America and Britain, who after WWII were pre-eminent colonizing force in the area. Essentially the state of Isreal was created by the Brits, who then sat offshore waiting for the Palestinians and Arabs to drive the new Jewish settlers into the sea. As it turned out the Jews were able to beat the Arab onslaught off despite overwhelming odds. Historically, Jews, Arabs, and Palestinians lived peaceably next to one another in the area as pastoral and agricultural peoples, that is until the State of Isreal was carved out. The influx of Jews after the war, and the administration of the agreement dispaced many Palestinians off the land they had been living on for generation (forced relocation in order to accomodate the Jewish influx). As far as giving the Jewish people a segment of Germany to make up for the Holocaust, I couldn't agree more. But the Jews were percieved as a problem for the Allied forces. Racism was rampant in Europe and America beyond Germany. The allied forces didn't want to deal with the immigrstion of the Jews into their countries, so they came up with the idea of creating a separate country in their homeland: Isreal. https://www.google.com/amp/s/medicalxpress.com/news/2010-06-dna-geographical-jews.amp DNA study confirms geographical origin of Jews https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_ancient_Israel_and_Judah History of ancient Israel and Judah

@TheAstroChuck. That trend still exists More women graduate high school and begin college than do men. Subsequently more women are advancing into graduate schools and professional careers. I personally don't see that as a bad thing. There has been a push over the last few years for the support of vocational education again. I see that as a good thing as well. Not all studrnts are meant for college, and besides a college education doesn't buy what it used too. When I was doing my PhD dissertation research, I was looking into a problem within the structure of the early high school to college (dual enrollment) program. As one of the vectors, I was desiring to measure success and/or failure based upon the grades that high school students were achieving in their college English, Math, and Science classes. The assumption being that as an Early high school to college student they would be the better performing high school students in the area of Academics. After all it was their performance in their high school academic classes that garnered them the right and opportunity to participate in the program to begin with. I had to abandon that approach as the majority of my research subjects were not taking academic classes in college. Instead they were focusing upon vocational oriented classes. Even if they wete in their srcond or third year of taking college classes.

What ypu say is true. but there were opportunities along the way in which both management, owners, and employees had the chance for input. The workers chose in many instances to ignore indicators in favor of the immediately comfortable and knowable. They chose to believe in the fantasy that nothing in their lives would change. That their livelihood and jobs would always be there. This despite thr fact that pensions were disappearing, early on and companies were disappearing, Reagan really did usher in a culture of ignorance. During his second run for office, the RNC made intelligence an official anathema. The RNC insisted that the Dems were elite intellectuals that were out of touch with the average American because of their education. This is the time of the rise of the Urban Cowboy craze. I should know I bought into it. I was an archaeologist already, but I took up some ranching and began bull riding despite being already passed the optimal age for the sport. After a couple of years I returned to Academia and got a second degree in Geology. My point, this era ushered in a 25 year war on education. We dumbed down our society and reveled in not being educated. I began teaching Science in 1988 and have watched this movement take root and expand to all segments of society (enter the new fan base for NASCAR, the likes of Lee Greenwood, Trace Atkins, and the rise in the popularity if country western music). The trend reduced choices to black and white (Reagans Evil Empire of black and white oversimplified analogies) and went out of their way to not take in to account the intricacies of situations. This dumbing down extended to the choices being made about the middle classes future, which is after all my original premise. Better to be a beer guzzling everyman than educated.

To disagree with a policy is not anti-semitic, it is to say that you don't agree with the policy. It does not say you are opposed to the state of Isreal. The present ultraconservative policy in Isreal towards the Palestinians is apartheid at best, approaching genocide at worst. To be opposed to this policy does not mean I oppose Isreal, excactly the opposite. The national stance on Isreal by both parties feeds into this narratve and is wrong. The fact that a dialog cannnot be had is even more wrong. What Ilhan Omar is doing is correct, but her approach is naive.

Yeah I'm not sure I've ever seen this happen? Got any examples? Also, I don't think "reverse discrimination" is a thing... Maybe you're talking about sexual discrimination against men, or racial discrimination against European descendants? Note that discriminating against men or white people ...

@tkcoy Your last point sounds a lot like Charlotte, only the races are reversed. I disagree with your assessments and conclusions. Exceptions do happen, but they do not make the rule.
Mmmmmm, I not so sure about that.

WHAT are you not so sure about?
