"racist poor white trash" is definitely a hateful way to talk about a majority of Americans. Hopefully the timeout gave you pause to think about that.
t1nick replies on Dec 28, 2018:
Conservatives are not the majority of the country. Conservatives managed to wrench control due to an odd idiosyncrasy of the electoral college, and a deeply flawed candidate (Hillary). She won the popular vote by three million votes. Looking at the numbers, only 50% of the voting eligible public actually came out and voted. Trump won with a 43% popular vote. That means that 43% of 50% is a total of about 24% of the entire nation. 24% is not an impressive percentage, that doesn't sound like a majority to me. Of the 50% that didn't vote, the majority were Democratic leaning (the fact that they didn't vote is definitely on them). See response above, Trump actually stated in an interview in 2017, "Yes, most of my followers are white trash. That's okay, I'm white trash. The dfference is that I have money". Yes "white trash" is a harsh declaration, but its no less harsh than what many conservatives say about liberals. Turn about is fair play?

@DaphneDarling. I agree. As much as I would like to see Trump impeached, it would work against Democrats. They do not have enough support in the Senate. It would tie the govt up for two years, cost millions, and sour moderates of both parties on voting Democrat in 2020.
Republicans must be hating Pelosi about now.

Careful, Pence is a snake hiding in the grass and biding his time. He expects Trump to fall and is ready to step in. Pence is an Evangelical nazi; women and minorities will suffer greatly under Pence, as he knows how to play the game to his advantage.

@JackPedigo. Western industrial names have experiemced a reduction in natality since the 1960's. It began among college educated and the professional classes. It was a matter of lifestyle choice. Since the 1990's a reduction in almost all segments of western industrial cultures have experienced in natality. Again a personal lifestyle choice. The point where you are incorrect is that you blame population increase to immigration. That is true in industrial nations, but industrial nations constitute only a moderate percentage of the worldwide population. Therefore, if we exclude the industrial nations impact to population growth, the rest of the world is still experiencing large natality numbers. 3rd World nations still are experiencing large population gains, with the rxceptions of areas experiencing war or famine.

@Renickulous i agree parents have primary responsibility, but one of the essential elements of human evolution is the development of a complex society to go along with complex communicationskills. Just like wolves cannot separate thrmselves from their evolutionary imperative to form hunting societies, neither can humans reject their evolutinary imperative to rely on societies to remain evolutionarily fit and viable in their environment. To do so is to move toward extinction.

Then find a way to make humans ethical and moral. Left to their own, they tend to denegrate into selfish exploitation. It takes a community to not only raise a child, but to maintain a society. Regulations are just one tool for the replacement of the influence and control that the village used to exert. The village is what made society fit and healthy by weeding out behaviors that undermined the well-being of that community. Before you start spouting examples of exceptions. yes examples of poor, even disadvatageous communities decisions exist. But exceptions do not make the rule. Yes, and Communism, Fascist, and Dictators relied on regulation. But not to the betterment of society, but for their own betterment. A difference from what Im presenting. Apples and oranges. SENSIBLE regulation protects the well-being of the larger society ftom itself. Otherwise we would still be living in a pre-1964 Jim Crow society (recognizing we only came half way to an equitable society, have a very long way to go). Without regulation we would have never checked our lesser behaviors, and there would be no wilderness or resources for our grandchildren. Just look at the REAL historical history of the western land rush and the western gold rush. That is what humans do when left to their own, unregulated.

t1nick replies on Nov 24, 2018:
@Stevil i dont have refute incorrect assumptions and analysis. But I'll concede and take on just a couple. The only reason Obama' Change fell short is because of McConnell's threat to block anything Obama proposed, and the do nothing Rebubs were successful. The Fascist ( oh sorry Freedom) Caucus was able to thwart all attempts at reform, accompanied by the Tea Party fascists. The biggest motivation that spurred the anti-Obama-faction was steeped in racism. Most of his detractors saw Obama as an uppity black man because of his intelligence and erudition. They just couldn't get over the fact that he knew more than most of them, and spoke signicantly better to boot. They had a case of the Jim Crow uppity nigger syndrome and just couldnt get over it. I do not know if you believe in facts (I suspect not), but the majority of women (numbers count as well as words) in this country do not reflect the the stereotype you've attempted to portray. The majority of women in this country see through the right ring wing nuts. Momentum is on their side.

@Amisja A combination of text-speech and a tendency to feel like you need to hurry up and send the work as soon as the last period is typed. This I believe has been created by the technology. Before this media we would look at the script, see the blue and red parts of our speech highlighted or underlined, then use spellcheck or grammerly to proof before sending anywhere. Now tthe technology gives a false sense of power encouraging us to get it "out their," right away, skipping the time we previously used editibg.

A style of warfare that didnt fit our military paradigm on how wars were fought(until Vietnam taught us). The British learned in Indonesia in WWII. We should have given Burma. Afghanistan had impenetrable mountain passes and less than primative infrastructure to support a mechanized army. Yes small groups can do untold damage, but dont generalize across events without providing historical/ geographical context. Exceptions do not make the rule if I understand your argument correctly.
