Have you read The Generation of Sociopaths How the baby boomers betrayed America?

Im a baby boomer, and I concur with you on many levels. False values and ethnocentrism
Why is the left lacking the personality mouthpieces to offset the right mouthpieces?
t1nick comments on Nov 24, 2018:
Part of the reason involves the issues and their approach to them. Fear and hate is much easier to pedal than sharing and accepting responsibility for ones action. In a society, and at a time where blaming the other person, and shifting responsibility to someone else, is the standard accepted behavior, the cult personalities on the right find it easier tap into that energy.

Do you still believe in Capitalism?
t1nick comments on Nov 24, 2018:
Not as it is practiced today. Todays version resembles the capitalism of the early 1900's, what was then called "Social Darwnism" ( a misnomer and the term as it applied was misapplied and ignored many of the basic tenents of the theory is wss named after). It was the end of the reign of the robber barons and ultimately led to the Great Depression. Survival of the most greedy pretty much describes capitalism as its being practiced today. Its a form of "predatory capitalism" which focuses upon the very short term success. Get it all now get as much as you can, and it doesn't matter what you do to the market, the society, or the nation. Then run to offshore accounts with your booty. Conversely. If they were following a true capitalustic evolutionary model, the outlook would focus on long term health, fitness and success. Decisions would be made along the lines of, "What can I do to obtain adequate success and wealth, and at the same time make sure my actions perpetuate the system ad infinitum?" If we choose to compare capitalistic practices to evolutionary principles, then lets use all the priciples associated with the theory. If we did, we would have a healthier, more robust economic system that would meets everybody's need and perservere long into the future.
Men as victims.
t1nick comments on Nov 23, 2018:
Thats mostly a bunch of crock. Men are just being made accountable for their actions. If accountability is an attack them, attack on. Too many boorish males, over too many centuries

We, as a species may indeed impact the course of human evolution. Perhaps at times for the betterment of the species, and at times to the detriment of the species. Ultimately, evolution will direct the course the species takes. Regardless what we think and attempt. the process will have the last word.

Yes, I find myself leaving out words that I did not do previously. I have a PhD, but since becoming actively involved in text-based communications, I find myself leaving out key words as I type. Especially verbs. It seems that I leave out verbs more than any other part of speech. Ive written and read technical writing for many years. It can be difficult and challenging depending the degree of field specific jargon appears. In an attempt to sound knowledgable, some writers engage in unnecessary pedantry, which makes the flow unnatural and more difficult to read.

t1nick comments on Nov 21, 2018:
It is possible that the human species has reached its capacity for evolutionay fitness for its envronment(i.e. this planet). If so, it will go the way of other organisms that exceeded their evolutionary fitness.and became extinct. The only question is how much damage to the planet will the species do before it reaches this event and how many other species will it drive to extinction along the way. Nature will persevere and come out the otherside. Definitely different, but still there. Regardless, extinction is a distinct possibility. Its not bad, its not good, it just is the wsy of nature and evolution. Dont disparage our fate. It happens to all dinosaurs, sooner or later.

Not to denegrate you personally, but it is both depressing and infuriating that the 3 generations since the 1969 event people are so jaded and cynical as to discount what is well documented. We, the space race generation watched with avid wonder and awe as we progressed toward that event. We were so proud of our accomplishments and success. It is so sad to watch youth (and you are young by your picture) of today question without doing the background research. If you want to see a popular debunking, but a thorough account, watch the MtyhBusters NASA special. Its not data heavy, but debunks conspiracies.

An interesting piece of trivia. A person cannot be nailed and suspended with nails driven through their hands. The tissue would immediately rip through, bifurcating the hand and dropping the person to the ground. In order to work, the person in question needed to be nailed through the wrist behind the palm. The stigmata is erroneous based on anatomy.

I now read females profiles if I find myself in conversations with so as not to make same mistake. She complained that men on this website never read womens profiles.

Inform him that what he is doing is legally classified as sexual harrassment, and there are policies in place concerning that behavior in the workplace. Futhermore, you respect his ability as a fellow nurse, but do not appreciate his "compliments", and if they don't cease you will be forced to lodge a harrassment complaint with HR.
So, here's a question.
t1nick comments on Nov 18, 2018:
The fact that one is willing to post false words is a statement of he/she as a person and their ethics. If the words aren't a lie and one posts hurtful things, then that too speaks to them as a person. As the nation has been trying to impress upon the president, "Words matter". If all we have to evaluate one on are the words they post, then that is who that person is for all intent purposes. Like first impressions, how one presents oneself and the choices one makes in that presentation speaks volumes to who they are as a person. They and theyalone made the choices for the world to see.
They aren't heading to summer camp.......
t1nick comments on Nov 18, 2018:
The problem with yours, and those like you when presenting your argument is that you take it out of context. You select one issue, i.e. governments exerting control over gun ownership, and isolate in time and space. You then make exaggerated generalizations in an attempt to make a point. Our nation is not a communist nation like Mao Tse Tung China, it is not a dictatorship like Nazi Germany, it is not a Totalatarian (yet, but give Trump and republicans another year or so) nation. Circumstances that led to the confiscations of arms were significantly different that what is happening and what exists in this country. Asking for sane gun ownership and registration is not the same thing as you are intimating in your picture. It is a false positive comparison. That is unless you are afraid of Trump becoming an Autocrat and exercising Authoritarian rule in the country. In which case he would limit arms ownership to prevent the opportunity for his own assasination. Your inherent paranoia makes you appear unreasonable and irrational. You are calling wolf when in fact the only thing present are shadows of your own insecurities.
I planted 300 sunflowers last summer that attracted huge amounts of bees.

A year after the Republican tax cuts, reality looks nothing like Republicans said it would
t1nick comments on Nov 17, 2018:
Unfortunately the Republican (I'll go along that there no longer any conservatives left after they've sold their soul to Trump) plan depended upon the better nature of business leaders to pump savings from the tax cuts back into employee salaries and hiring. Well news flash, a decade of experience prior to the tax cuts passing should have shown that the so-called business leaders did not have a better nature. The re-worked paradigm of predatory capitalism (refer back to Social Darwinism of the early Twentieth Century) should have clearly demonstrated that all revenues from the tax cuts would go to stock holder payouts and CEO bonuses, and not back to the employees. There is no heart in Trump's capitalistic model. The sad thing, this is not the only model of capitalism that exists and there are more equitable and socially responsible models available.
Hmmm...that sounds too cheap to be any good.

USA ranked 27th in the world in education and healthcare
t1nick comments on Nov 9, 2018:
That the best we've been rated in awhile. A lot of the rating is based on normative testing results. Unfortunately, countries beyond the U.S. cull the students who they allow to take the test. Only their best and brightest are allowed to take the test. However, we in the US allow any and all that can afford the testing fee to take. Therefore, while other countries only report their best, we have a wide range of participant's. The best and the brightest, as well as the average and less adept. We're still not competitive though. Our students are by and large not prepared and not competitive in many circumstsnces. Not due to teachers not being caplable or trying. Blame lies in parents accepting lower expectations and no parental accountability to support education (those of you who do are an exception).
