I'm an old hippie, a proud mother and grandma, a quilter, a cook, a crafter, a gardener, a reader of many books and a thinker of many thoughts -- some deep, some not so much. Politically I'm radical feminist and about as far left as you can get, teetering on the precipice of anarchy. I think of myself as a militant atheist. I like to be outdoors, gardening or hiking or just enjoying nature. I'm well-read and well-educated, but I come from working-class people, and I have great respect for my Appalachian ancestors. I enjoy intelligent conversation, although in rural Kentucky there aren't a lot of opportunities to engage in that. I'm sad about the disintegration of good manners, civil discourse, and simple human decency. Most days I'm happy to be alive.
