It's almost midnight here in Oklahoma and the police just left my house because my mysterious and ...
tinkercreek comments on Oct 18, 2020:
I am so sorry you've had these situations, it really shakes one up to feel threatened at home. Some years ago a couple neighbors (!) created a big threatening scene, both quite drunk, one at my front door and one at the back. There had been previous issues, threatening other neighbors, etc. I called 911 as they were screaming at me and pounding at the doors, heard by 911 on the line. Sheriff response was good, and they asked/recommended if I wanted them "permanently trespassed" from my property (in Oregon). That would create not just a property crime but a specific arrestable offence if violated. If that's what you have now, that's good, as would be several of the mentioned electronic security measures. Take good care!
This ain't healthy, but it sure tastes good.
tinkercreek comments on Oct 17, 2020:
This sounds fantastic, a must-try! Also, the knife is great, similar to but much larger than one I've used over 40 years. The kids gave me a nice set of ceramic knives some years ago, but they are rarely used. Using an old knife gives me synergy in the kitchen, with tactile memory and accuracy.

Not official here yet, but majority notice is Indigenous Peoples Day. Most geographical names have native roots and despite the lack of accurate schooled history, there is a great appreciation and respect. Now, for those fool renegades that do stupid things downtown, I haven't a clue.

The Stollen season is upon us already! [en.
tinkercreek comments on Oct 11, 2020:
Stollen was not incorporated in my family traditions and I am not familiar with it, so I looked it up. Interesting: "The bread does have religious symbolisms. It's long oval shape is said to symbolize Baby Jesus wrapped in swaddling clothes. The ridge on the top of the Stollen is said to represent the hump on the back of a camel, which the Wise Men rode, carrying gifts to Baby Jesus. And the bright candied fruit is said to represent the jewels that the Wise Men wore."

I have become a living barometer. Osteoarthritis in my feet, hip and back has been quiet throughout our warm summer. This morning we dipped below 50' and even though today and tomorrow are later sunny and warm, rain and cooler temps are moving in, and I was limping and hurting all day. This sucks.

That's a beautiful ornament, and even more precious memory - and MY kind of a tree with authenticity! I haven't had a tree for a few years, but may give it one more go since I am home this year.
