Oh, that's the best! I used to think it a bad food choice, until I found that the higher fat content keeps me feeling full for 6-7 hrs, eliminating snacking!
This is why I garden. This makes me so happy!

Whole roasted cauliflower.
tinkercreek comments on Jul 8, 2020:
I have made something similar, though I like the seasonings and butter here better than the yogurt sauce that I made. A whole roasted cauliflower takes on a more mellow, sweeter flavor and great texture.

My father past away this week with the funeral ending just a few hours ago.
tinkercreek comments on Jun 25, 2020:
I am so sorry for the loss of your father. Regardless of the place they have with us, losing a parent changes us and our lives in unexpected ways, and for a long time. My thought is that by asking your "return to faith", your father was speaking from within the only framework he knew, wanting you to live as a loving and caring person, showing integrity and compassion. You are obviously all of that, and then some, to show the respect and cooperation with siblings for funeral plans, and take on the care of your mother. I don't believe you could do more to honor and respect your father's wishes, and if there is a glimpse of your life for him now he will know that you have become an even more wonderful child than he could have asked, without imagined and artificial constraints on your psyche and life!

tinkercreek comments on Jun 21, 2020:
It is nearly impossible not to view, act and react to people and situations differently after realizing you have spent years with a pathological liar, or worse. The edges do soften over time and with reflection, and respecting my own "hackles" as helpful intuition, which I was raised to ignore. Yes, we can learn anew, utilizing intuition as a helpful tool rather than a weapon. I think I'm making progress, and it sounds like you are too. Onward!

tinkercreek comments on Jun 13, 2020:
I've lived in my small house for 12 yrs, but not a 'tiny home'. Though it measures about 1000sf, I have a second small bedroom that I rarely set foot into, but it is essentially extra storage. I enjoy the minimal aspect of it and am continually working to downsize as much as possible. Less stuff is more freedom! I think that being tall (5'10") would create some very real discomforts, though I love the concept and have seen some great floorplans.

tinkercreek comments on Jun 8, 2020:
Given that we live in a time with groceries readily available and many contemporary means of offering one's value as a human being, I see nothing but red flags around someone who somehow believes they can attract a mate by holding up a dead fish or other dead animal (and I grew up with fishing and hunting; it's not about squeamishness). Then there was the man I was dating, who brought me a bag of harvested rhubarb and said "here, I bet you can make a pie out of these!"
