Are we liberated from aggravation or do you stand alone to conquer the world?
tinkercreek comments on Dec 12, 2020:
Pandemic-required isolation has supplied me a little reality buffer, usually easier to rationalize with myself on some level about this. Other times, it just smacks me upside the head, and I don't know what to do or think, how or why to accomplish anything in this void. I don't allow myself to dwell on feeling lonely, as I experienced that more painfully while in an imbalanced relationship. Living on my own is a skill I've gained and am comfortable with. Given that, I miss being able to socialize, dance, hike, and just live more closely to others. This will pass.

Good on you, excellent response! Anyone running or elected to represent the general public is in violation of their oath to service by putting out something like that flier. Not surprising, really...

Do you think the Pandemic will change the way we shop permanently?
tinkercreek comments on Dec 10, 2020:
I never was a recreational shopper, and only used shopping malls as needed for gift buying. Over the past couple decades, the rude and inconsiderate behavior of other shoppers, crowded retail staging, and parking hassles just magnified that. Online shopping suits me in so many ways to comparison shop, select delivery/pickup options, avoid crowds, now more than ever!

I watched this over the weekend, and want to thank you for the recommendation! Not only did I find it a captivating story of critical family and life communications, but being set within my life reference {with the starring young woman one year older than I} made the entire story closely relatable. I highly recommend it to anyone!

GREAT article! I have recently become more observant of which humans Chelsea warms to at the dog park. She is generally very friendly and enjoys socializing, but not always. Seems there is a pattern of 1) people I have friendly exchange with, 2) people whose dogs I have positive exchange with, and 3) people whose dogs have positive exchange with her. Some people try to be friendly with her, but she backs away and will not approach them, which fascinates me. WHO are they, really?
Definitely not for small packages.

I'm into month #6 of isolation now, with a funny little life but I want no more Covid funerals. Restrictions in Oregon were formally relaxed a while back and infection numbers soared, so I'm glad that I never changed my ways. There are still "deniers" and frustrated business owners who cannot see the situation clearly. My best childhood friend, who has also been careful, and her 94-yr old dad were just diagnosed positive last week, and I'm guessing a family Thanksgiving may have been at fault. Dang, people!

New housekeeper from a new agency today.
tinkercreek comments on Nov 30, 2020:
I read through the other comments, and see that she brought up both religion AND politics? Flat no, and certainly a call to the agency to tell them their staff need better training for being around the clients. I am wondering if she may have seen anything in your home reflective of your atheism - symbols, documents, periodicals? That may have triggered her mission tendencies, or just fishing, and any of the above are not acceptable. Good on you in recognizing all of this and calling her out! If the agency supports evangelism they should make that apparent, allowing you to hire someone to just do the needed work. You certainly don't need that. Best of luck!

Getting back in the dating game. The search is daunting. What dating sites are recommended?
tinkercreek comments on Nov 28, 2020:
Online dating can be largely about luck of the draw, and most times best to use free sites to avoid financial drain with the emotional stress. Great points called out by others here. You also MUST do whatever possible to verify and background check, clarify all 'life stories', meet family & friends, observe a person in different social settings, etc.! Your personality and personal style will dictate how you accomplish those, but I have a *little* experience in falling for someone and getting involved, only to learn later that things were MUCH different than was presented. Yes, and even within the realm of professionals and public presence. There are certainly others who are identifiable and transparent, offering confirmation of their life from the start (as you should, without risking safety) which is wonderful. Dating is much different when people have decades of life behind them, but there are still wonderful folks out there!

tinkercreek comments on Nov 28, 2020:
For my Pumpkin Ricotta pie I used (GF) Teff flour, basic crust recipe with butter, cold water, vinegar, and it turned out great! Was a bit odd to work with and needed extra liquid, but still too crumbly to roll out. I just pressed it into the pie plate, used the hotter 425' for the first 15 minutes, then down to 350, perfect! I would love to try this pecan pie, and have never used creamed coconut - is it in a can?
Yeah that really happened

For those without a comfort human this winter, how do you keep cozy and warm?
tinkercreek comments on Nov 26, 2020:
