One of these days I might actually find the brush or for that matter look in a mirror.

Yesterday Roxie (my pit/Shepard mix) chased the squirrels.
tinkercreek comments on Jun 15, 2019:
Always so cute to see, and they love to taunt! After being outside doing some yardwork yesterday, Chelsea came in with me, lying just inside the patio door. Soon after, a plump grey squirrel sauntered across the patio, stopping to look at her, but she's wise to the prank and just raised her nose a bit to watch it.

Kissing. How do you like it?
tinkercreek comments on Jun 10, 2019:
Kissing is essential foreplay to me, and a waltz of mutual exploration. I once dated a man I liked very much, and for good reasons, but was baffled by his restrictive and stingy kissing. Soon enough came the stories of his former wife, the dental hygienist, and comments like "do you know how many bacterium can live on the roof of a human mouth?" I truly value overall cleanliness AND good dental hygeine, but this germaphobe was living a romantic reality far removed from mine. Buh-bye.

Does anyone interpret dreams?
tinkercreek comments on Jun 10, 2019:
Journal!! Write down everything you can remember, as soon as possible, even if the words make no sense. Describe what you saw, what you heard, how you felt. Years ago (30) I went through a time of great personal awakening and self-examination with a therapy group, and skilled leader. Uncommon for me, I began to experience dreams so vivid they would wake me in the night, and I wrote down everything. Years later, 3 of the 4 strongest dreams have come to fruition, one of them a detailed accounting of my father's death. This is nothing I had in mind at the time of the dreams, but a few certain situations poked at my memory until I remembered my journals, and the similarities. Not just flat descriptions, each dream held valuable lessons for me. Hmmm, time to read them again!

tinkercreek comments on Jun 8, 2019:
13 years of dashing over concrete hospital hallways with heavy equipment took its toll on me, and along with ankle injuries resulted in a left arthrodesis in 2007 (metatarsal/arch rebuild). That was a success, and the residual osteoarthritis in both feet has made me a living barometer, each year more sensitive to cold humidity. Dietary changes, merino socks and insulated boots are my salvation, requiring a certain vigilance and constant eye on load reduction. I always did prefer hanging from trees!
If you haven’t visited a UU church yet, here are a few reasons to.
tinkercreek comments on Jun 8, 2019:
Excellent, and thank you for posting here! I attended UU's over about 10 yrs after a large 'new thought' group dissolved, and felt finally at home in a fellowship organization. Life situations have given me distance from that over recent years, and you are reminding me of all the value there - thank you! I hope you enjoy the high desert of Bend, somewhere dear to me but not reachable this weekend. You wouldn't be looping near Portland soon, would you?? :-)
I’m watching The Lobster on Netflix.

tinkercreek comments on Jun 4, 2019:
Love it! I may not catch the very first birds, but I hear them all when I wake at 6am. On the warmer mornings I have a little walkabout through my yard, finding all the new sprouts and changing blossoms before I get ready for work. Birds sing all day here this time of year, even now at 8pm as I have dinner on the patio. I can pick up at least 6 distinct songs, with a couple sparrows and a chickadee popping down to hunt under the blueberry bushes I just watered.
My great aunt has officially gotten so bad she doesn't remember me or my brother.
tinkercreek comments on Jun 3, 2019:
Not at all fair that all this later-life stuff is coming at you at once. You can only mind yourself and your values, try to make good choices with an eye on long-term outcome. As others have said, one thing at a time, and do your best not to engage in battles.
It really works!
tinkercreek comments on Jun 3, 2019:

Personal maintenance to look decent increases as we get older
tinkercreek comments on Jun 2, 2019:
You are quite lovely! Yes, there are upkeep items we all do as a baseline, but I applaude you for maintaining your natural beauty as better than layers of paint over botox. I still maintain that those of us who do so will be far better off when the long-term effects of popular cosmetic procedures come into play.
What is your most creative or amusing use of a bungee cord?
tinkercreek comments on Jun 2, 2019:
I added a rain gutter along the house side of a patio gazebo (fabric on metal frame), so the rain would stop splashing on the patio window. Several bungee cords and a few tie wraps, epoxy to hold the downspout and success! Oh, and I also have a bitty one holding my car's sun visor up, as it no longer stays on it's own.

True confession here.
tinkercreek comments on Jun 1, 2019:
I truly understand you wanting so much to convince yourself this can work, and I also clearly see that your "I want", "I don't want", "I don't want", "I don't think", "I don't think", "I always say", are followed by answers 1) probably not, 2) no, and 3) no. This is a tough one. It sounds like this man has all the charms, skills and maneuvers to coerce many women into getting just what he wants. Again, what HE wants. tinkercreek comments on May 27, 2019:
I'm a huge fan of Leonard and have most of his recent music up to the end. He was a complex performer, highly educated and life-experienced, passionate and compassionate man, which I feel exuding from most of his music. This piece in particular I have always experienced as very intense and evocative of an amazingly passionate love. Oh, and the smoky instrumentals . . . if that's what you mean by sexy, yes.

Reality hits when they meet a woman as tall as they claim to be ;-).
