It would be unfortunate to be years in to a relationship and have your partner suddenly realize that they are gay. Especially if children are involved.

The most important thing one needs to realize when dealing with the likes of trolls and bigots is that they function at a level far beneath your station, so any insults they hurl your way are fit only to be mocked, laughed at and treated with utter and complete derision. Once you get it through your own head where trolls and bigots stand in relation to you in the societal heiarchy, they can be a hell of a lot of fun to play with. I’ve had trolls and bigots literally so out of their minds with rage that they’re doing online research on my background and posting derogatory things on my Facebook Wall about old girlfriends and roommates and the like. I’ve been called everything from a pedophile to a rapist and every nasty thing in between online. It’s about the equivalent of a monkey throwing its own feces against a wall calling Mrs. Manners unrefined.

If they tried to call me a pervert because their idea of who should and shouldn't have sex with whom and when and how doesn't happen to match mine, then what ever. Church is a pretty good outlet to meet others if, as an athiest or agnostic, you can tolerate all the Praise Jebus talk. As a married person with children, your family likely takes up a sifnificant majority of your time. The alternative is to be a single wall flower sitting at home alone in an empty apartment, getting older and whiling away the years living life vicariously through night time TV dramas. There's nothing wrong with wanting to get out on occasion to meet new folks, but first be grateful for who you already have. Some people have no one.

I never brought it up. I don't consider differing perspectives on religion to be important enough to break up families over. When my family would go through the whole religious ritual thing, I'd play along and jump through all the correct hoops at all the right times. What harm can sitting through the occasional two minute prayer or hour long religious service do in the interest of maintaining peace and quiet? I guess for me it was less about guilt and more about avoiding wasting unneccesary energy on a drawn out, dead end argument. I already knew every nuance, detail and angle of their belief system, and being exposed to it during brief prayer rituals and religious services was quite enough for me, thank you very much.

This is definitely concerning. Aircraft are supposed to have multiple redundancies in their systems to prevent such incidents, and the pilots should be able to take full control of the aircraft at any time if need be. Let’s hope the NTSB fast tracks this investigation and finds out what is going on quickly. Perhaps the Dreamliner should be grounded until there are answers.
