Slightly less bad. I voted for Gary Johnson. As far as I'm concerned, Trump and Clinton should be cell mates in prison.
Who has/had the best singing voice of all-time? My vote goes to Whitney Houston.

For rock and pop? Freddy Mercury (gifted beyond belief), Whitney Houston (she elevated the bland pop music she sang to another level) and David Bowie (the man could sing any style brilliantly).

Well, hey! It's the best part of being a christian after all. You get to do what ever you want, ask for forgiveness and then do it all over again. And you get to conveniently ignore the fact that your holy book clearly states that you genuinely need to change your ways and be sorry for your sins in order for it to count.
America: Do you believe Canada is a socialist country?
webbew1 comments on Jun 16, 2018:
Canada runs on a capitalist economic system with some elements of socialism built in which are designed to cater to the public good. It's what the United States used to be before religious and massive private interest groups infiltrated our government and turned us in to a theocraric plutocracy.

What's your favourite city?
webbew1 comments on Jun 15, 2018:
Bangkok, Thailand tops my list for many reasons: 1) Rich in culture and history. From its temples to it's floating markets and everything in between, Bangkok manages to hold on to the traditional thai way while still embracing the modern world. 2) Warm and friendly locals. I have never been in a city where I have felt more safe. In all of my times in Bangkok, I have never felt physically threatened in any way by the residents of the city. Some of the obnoxious, drunk tourists can be a whole other story. On a side note, this doesn't mean that the locals won't be happy to scam you out of your money, so one should always beware of bullshit artists. 3) The best food in the world. Less than five bucks will buy you a full meal which is so good it will blow your freaking mind. I wouldn't hesitate to get on a plane and fly 21 hours to Bangkok just for the food, and I'm not exaggerating. 4) Affordability. If you're looking to stretch your travel dollar, there's no better place to do it than Thailand. Most everything is super inexpensive. 5) Last but most certainly not least, beautiful thai women. If you're a guy who likes women with a little darker skin, getting dates in Thailand is as easy as taking a stroll out of your hotel room. Thai men like light skinned women, and that leaves thousands of beautiful darker skinned women from the north country without a mate. What's best of all is, you don't have to look like a GQ cover model to do well with women in Thailand. All that's required is to be considerate of thai culture and polite. Having plenty of cash to take your new lady love out on lots of fun dates helps too.

Long term emotional connection is definitely a wonderful thing, but people can get so caught up in looking for Mr. or Mrs. Right that they miss out on something good with Mr. or Miss. Right Now. Life is short, and a human being's window for peak sexual capacity is even shorter. When I'm old and decrepit and no longer able to perform sexually, I can honestly say that I will have no regrets when the big blue bus reaches my stop. I have had an emotional connection with all of the women I've been with. It matters little to me whether that emotional connection lasted hours, weeks, months or years. All that matters is that it was mutually good and fulfilling and lasted as long as she needed it to. I don't fret over break ups the way some people do. I simply go out and find someone new to share my bed with me.

Spot on. Life isn't fair, but the rules of the game must be. Everyone needs to have an equal opportunity to succeed or fail based upon their own merits. Not because someone who happens to have more power and influence gets to rig the game. The Philadelphia Eagles don't get to make the rules for the upcoming NFL season just because they won the Super Bowl last year. They have to play by the same rules as the lowely Cleveland Browns. Same applies to life. This is why we have laws, rules and regulations. Much as free market purists hate such things, they serve a very necessary role in society. They level the playing field. And as much of an annoyance as they can be at times, I will never support their eradication in favor of a pure, unregulated free market system.

webbew1 comments on Jun 8, 2018:
Economically, we had a pretty good run for awhile after the great depression when the New Deal kicked in. Most people had a steady and respectable job, could afford to put food on the table, live in a modest home and drive a decent car. They could also put their kids through school and take a nice vacation once a year. All without going in to debt. That prosperity came to an end in the 80's when Reaganomics came along and threw a big, ugly monkey wrench in to the works. 1940 - 1980 was probably our finest hour as a country. We weren't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but we were the model upon which other countries looked to design a system which allows every single individual to have a decent size slice of the pie and an opportunity to gain even more if they so desired to pursue it. Go beyond those years of economic prosperity and things become more..... checkered..... to say the least. We've certainly had our dark side. When it comes to acts of domestic terrorism, human rights violations and corruption at the executive level in private industry and in the government, we wrote the "how to" manuel on that shit.

webbew1 comments on Jun 1, 2018:
Right now, most places in the US don't feel like a third world country because on the surface our infrastructure still looks (for the most part) fine. But mark my words. Within 10 years as the older infrastructure continues to crumble without being replaced and the newer shoddily constructed developments begin to fall apart, we'll look every bit the part. As a garage door repair technician, I deal wirh customers every single day who bought brand new homes less than three years ago and are already having to replace every single pre-installed appliance. Including the bottom of the barrel garage door opener the contractor put in. Within five years, they'll probably have a spring break as well. I can't help but wonder what these folks are going to do when the very foundation and support structure of their home begins to crumble.

The hair band era completely destroyed heavy metal as a viable genre in the United States. Back in the 80's, record companies started signing every talentless hack with a V neck and a pair of spandex. The result was an endless barrage of utter crap on FM radio, leading people like me to turn to underground and college radio in order to get away from the ever growing mountain of shit. Thanks to the hair band era, great post 90's metal bands can't find a home anywhere on the airwaves in the US market. Ok, rant over..... for now.

No dog will ever stop wanting to hang out with you unless it involves doing it for just long enough to bribe you out of the car keys.

If they're going to do another Alien film with her in it to finally kill off Ripley for good, they better get it done. Sigorney Weaver isn't getting any younger.
Well, it appears as though the originator of this group has abandoned it.

That's kind of like the mafia showing up to collect a debt from your fourth cousin because everybody else in line has died, isn't it?

People think of the Bay Area as a bastion of liberal, inclusive ideals. That isn't always the case. San Leandro, in the East Bay, is one of the most racist towns you'll ever have the displeasure of visiting. I once heard some dude drop an N bomb at a record store to his friend across the room. I remember thinking to myself, just had to say that out loud in front of the whole fucking store, eh?
I like to shamelessly flirt with the hunky local weatherman on twitter.

Life is short. If this guy is single or polyamorous and the opportunity arises, you should most definitly get with him and explore how many nice things you can do to each other between the sheets.

I've seen a few of those assholes in my day. They're the overly aggressive types who walk in to a room and act like they have some sort of divine granted authority to grope and/ or invade the personal space of any woman they set their beady little eyes on. What they really are is small, pathetic little men who use borish behavior in an attempt to try to cover up their laundry list of failures and shortcomings. And when I say "small", I don't neccessarily mean physically small in stature. In fact, just the opposite is often the case. These dudes are usually large, brutish types with big muscles, tiny minds and probably even tinier dicks. Without their large physical stature they would be less than nothing, and even with it they really aren't that much. The absolute worst case I have ever seen of this type of repulsive behavior occured on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok, Thailand a few years back. I was walking to meet my traveling companions for dinner when I saw three guys heading my way, strutting down the road like showing any sense of civil behavior towards others was beneath them. One of these douche bags reached out and grabbed a female street vendor who was working at a kiosk and began groping her right in public. I'm not talking about a quick ass grab and then scurrying off like a cockroach in to the crowd. This piece of shit was all but tearing this woman's clothes off and raping her right in public view. I wish that the crowd would have reacted by converging on all three of these scumbags and beating them to a pulp. Unfortunately, what actually happened is the incident went completely ignored. People walked by like they didn't see a damn thing. By the time I reached the place where the incident occured, it was all over. The douche bag crew was already continuing their self-important strut down the road. All I could do was walk up and ask this poor woman if she was ok. I was the only one who did. I looked for a tourist police officer to report the incident to, but of course there was none to be found. As for how to react when witnessing this type of behavior? I think what I saw demonstrates perfectly the difference between what should happen and what does happen. Most people do nothing. I wish I could end by saying that I later found those three losers and gave them all a sound beating, but it's pretty obvious what the end result would have been if little ol' me had tried to single handedly go up against three big dudes.
Nostalgic music.

I'll go back and listen to some of the old stuff once in awhile. However, I prefer to navigate Tidal or Pandora to discover new stuff I haven't heard before. When I do get in the mood for a bit of nostalgia, I'll go back to what I was listening to in college. Not high school. The Replacements, The Damned, The Church, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Echo and the Bunnyman, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, The Cure, Love And Rockets, The Pixies, The Dead Boys, Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Motorhead, King Diamond, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Accept....
I haven't been on in a while & I miss you guys.

My favorite one about loss and eventually finding the strength to move forward. While it's about a mother who is dealing with the loss of her children in a school shooting, the message is not limited in scope and can be applied to loss involving varying circumstances..... https://youtu.be/sh5mWzKlhQY
