What would be good ideas for someone wanting to write an "atheistic" song?

If someone like Roy Moore can be shown the door in a place like Alabama, then imagine what can happen in states where the radical right movement has a more tenuous hold. Good people with half a brain still outnumber these troglodytes and they have the advantage so long as they stay engaged in the political process.

Has anyone on here watched the new Seth MacFarlane series "The Orville"?
webbew1 comments on Dec 12, 2017:
The Orville kicks ass. Just keeps getting better every episode. Can't wait for season two! The season finale was an awesome study in the growth and evolution of a civilization. However, I have a feeling they're going to revisit this particular civilization in a future episode and the return will be quite grim. This could very well turn out to be a story arc about a civilizations rise and fall.
hi i don't belive in god but am i still an atheist if I believe in ghosts?
webbew1 comments on Dec 12, 2017:
It depends upon your definition of ghosts, I guess. If you view ghosts as merely an imprint of those who have passed away on the space/ time spectrum (much like a recording on a tape), then I guess you could still qualify as an athiest. If you view them as entities from some sort of post life world where we all go after we die, then probably not.

Tipping should actually be illegal. For all intents and purposes, it's a legalized form of bribery. Then again, it's the only way wait staff can earn a decent living. If restaurants could get away with it, they'd start their wait staff's at five bucks an hour AND pocket all the tips.

webbew1 comments on Dec 12, 2017:
This phenomenon of human behavior isn't limited to just believers. As the old truism goes: The more desirable a woman is, the less evolved the man she's with is. When it comes to romantic and sexual interactions, we're all basically still apes. During the time of the cave man, there was some benefit to this dychotomy. The physically stronger males were more apt to be able to protect from predators and invading tribes. Smaller, smarter males were less important to survival. Like the women and children, they needed protecting in order to fulfill their role of advancing the tribe through better and more efficient means of hunting and gathering. For what ever reason, we have not evolved as a species in this regard, even as technological advancement has rendered physical prowess less and less important. Today, even in war, the smaller smarter participant ultimately wins. The larger participant may still be able to emerge victorious in hand to hand combat, but all the combat skills in the world are nothing compared to an efficiently designed weapon of mass distruction built by one single engineer. This is a flaw in the evolutionary process, and I'm not sure how it's ultimately going to play out. Will we eventually catch up? Will it cause us to de-evolve back in to the stone age? Will this be what ends up destroying us? Only time will tell.

This isn't just about Fonzy jumping over some shark anymore. 1) We've somehow managed to come up with an alleged democratic system where minority voting numbers are able to defeat majority voting numbers. 2) We're being taken over by religious zealots like a cancer and we have a whole generation who doesn't seem to care so long as they get to sit on their couch and play Call Of Duty. 3) We have a POTUS who is respected by neither our allies nor our enemy's. 4) We have small groups of people who have ideas about race, sexual preference and equality which once upon a time they knew they should probably just keep to themselves. Now they run for office and use these twisted notions as campaign slogans. 5) We have religious leaders who are pedophiles and molestelrs. 6) We have politicians who are pedophiles and molesters. 7) And last but not least, we have a large percentage of the population who seems to think that all of this is just fine. Jumping the shark doesn't even come close to describing what's happening here in the US.

If there is a god, and the pearly gates and a judgement at the end of days and all that, then it seems to me as though people like this pastor of yours are in for a very unpleasant surprise when their judgement comes down. The right to love and adequate shelter, food and water if they are domesticated. The right to live in a comfortable, clean and spacious environment. All of the above should apply even if they are harvest animals. And if they are harvest animals, the right to die quickly, painlessly and without fear when their time comes.

Should we re-think the concept of God as the law originating all laws related to the existences ...
webbew1 comments on Dec 7, 2017:
I have personally NEVER bought in to the idea of a god as some old white dude with a white beard sitting on a throne up in the sky. Even the Bible doesn't peddle this BS, telling us that god has only ever manifested in human form when he came down to earth as Jesus. So to answer your question, yes. Evaluating and re-evaluating the concept of god should be an on going process. Just like it is with everything else. We define our surroundings based upon the current knowledge which we hold and change that definition as new evidence presents itself or different understandings are acheived. Why should the concept of god be any different?
In Life I have learned more from Women than from Men, is that the case for other men?
webbew1 comments on Dec 7, 2017:
I would have to say I've learned from both in equal measure. I have a dominant male side, but I also have a clear and present feminine side as well. The jobs I've done in my life have been, for the most part, very male centric. I can tell you what an impact wrench is and how to use it and I know how to swing a hammer. On the weekends in the fall I hang out at home or at the local sports bar and watch college and NFL football. I've also been very active in the arts throughout my life, and singing and dancing in regional theater productions of The Sound Of Music and Oliver isn't exactly considered a male centric activity. Having that kind of lifeatyle requires one to interact with both men and women regularly, and it's virtually impossible not to gain an equal amount of insight from both.

I'll give credit to Kim Jung Un for at least trying to end the starvation problem in North Korea by improving the farming industry, but that's all he gets credit for. Even that is highly suspect. I was rarely spanked, but it was always a very real possibility if I stepped way out of line. I've always believed that corporal punishment should be used as an absolute last resort. Administration of corporal punishment is a sign of ineffective leadership skills.
Why is it you seldom hear about women sexually assaulting men?
webbew1 comments on Dec 6, 2017:
It happens, but it's considerably more rare. Few men actually report the assaults. Even fewer male victims report being assaulted than female victims. There are also female pedophiles, but often their victims are considered lucky. Example: The teacher who molests a 15 year old student and the kid gets a pat on the back from society for banging their teacher. Meanwhile, the teacher gets a two year slap on the wrist. Out in six months for good behavior. And why are all of these female pedos so freaking hott?? You can't tell me they can't get with men their own age! There are also female johns in the sex trade, but you rarely hear about them either. Male prostitution is big business in the Caribbean and the Philippines. Wealthy European and American women and college age girls travel to destinations like Jamaica and the Dominican Republic for paid sex with local men. These are referred to as Milk Bottle Runs.

Why Won't God Heal Amputees?

He can't. The American Medical Association lifted his license and banned him from practicing medicine after he was found guilty of malpractice during the Crusades.
What is the worst X-mas song ever? I'll go first.

Anything Christmas related that Michael Bolten ever recorded. That, and The Christmas Shoes by New Song. Although Patton Oswalts take down of it is freaking hilarious.

Anybody here see The Book Of Mormon yet? The touring production is coming to Denver in 2018 and I hope that I can scrape together the money to go see it. Broadway shows are so expensive though. I kind of miss the 90's when Broadway shows like Miss Saigon, Sunset Boulevard, Phantom Of The Opera and Les Miserables were big spectacles. It made the hefty price tag worth it.

One of the few shows I've seen almost every single episode of. I still need to watch this season though.
Anyone watch any cringey and/or creepy Christian kids shows growing up?
webbew1 comments on Dec 3, 2017:
Davey and Goliath. I rewatched an episode of it a couple of years ago on You Tube and it gave me the heebie jeebies. Good thing I was too young to understand just how creepy that show was when I was watching it on a weekly basis.
How do you spend your money?
webbew1 comments on Dec 3, 2017:
When I'm actually making decent money, I'll save back so that I can travel occasionally. Most of the rest of my money goes to absolute neccessities, and I'll buy the least expensive thing I can find. I shop at thrift stores and off brand stores a lot.
Age & Romance: How Low (or High) will you go?
webbew1 comments on Dec 3, 2017:
It depends on the maturity level of the individual, but as a 51 year old, I'd consider myself robbing the cradle if I was getting with anyone younger than 25. Younger than 18 and I'd turn myself in to the police for being a disgusting pervert.
Lets say It was NOW the year 2060.

I guess Catholic. I faked that one for years so I'm pretty good at it already.
Have you ever visited the people in prisons or correctional institutions?
webbew1 comments on Dec 2, 2017:
My view on crime and punishment is as follows: At some point we all reach adulthood and need to take accountability for our actions, regardless of our upbringing. Let's compare Charles Manson to Gordon Ramsey. Both had horrible childhoods. Both are basically shit house rat crazy. One went on to become a cult leader who ordered the murder of innocents. The other grew up to become one of the finest chefs in the world. Both reached a crossroads where they made a choice. Both most certainly have demons crawling around inside their heads. Both are also clearly apable of understanding the tenants of what society considers civilized behavior. One chose to ignore them. One chose to abide by them. One died a disgrace to humanity in prison. One is probably currently working on opening their latest five star restaurant. This is as it should be.
Favourite movie of all time.

Are you sure you have time to read this list? You mean I have to whittle it down to one?? Oh.... very well. Audrey Hepburn is the most beaitiful human being to ever have graced this planet with her presence. I'd take a time machine through the burning fires of hell to be with her when she was in her 20's.
