@kgoodyear I understood that. As a teenager in a rural area, about the only way to make any money at all was farm labor. That meant long hours in Florida heat and humidity for very low pay. I swore that I would never live or work on a farm when I grew up..

I do not reign derision. I was raised in the rural deep south that encultured me to be a racist, religious, unthinking conservative. It took me many years of study and learning, exposure to other cultures, and experiences which challenged me to think about my behavior and beliefs. The vast majority of rural white southerners are religious, racist, and conservative because they have never had experiences which really caused them think deeply about their beliefs and behaviors. I have many fond memories about growing up in that setting, but also deep regrets about the person I once was in that setting. . I could never live in that setting again. Even when I do visit, I cannot express my current beliefs without provoking anger and derision. Again, I do not deride. I describe real behavior clearly and accurately.
