Would you be interested in a PAID affiliate program for Agnostic.com? While we appreciate members who promote use for points (see [agnostic.com] ), a paid affiliate program would pay you cash (e.g., $1-5 per active member depending on their activity/points). I've written most of the software already to track our internal advertising. Yes, we are a 501c3 non-profit but can still spend money on advertising. A paid affiliate program might be able to get more members than we could by traditional advertising. Thoughts?

NOTE: this does mean is putting ads on this site but to pay people to put up ads elsewhere.

You've replied to people saying ads would not be put on this site, but your NOTE says "this does mean is putting ads on this site." Which is it?

Even though I do not have a blog or anywhere to put an ad, I think it’s a very good idea.

When money starts to exchange hands, that is when problems really crop up fast. Things are good the way they are. The elders on here that can post they ad for points is good enough.

If ain't broken then don't fix it..... That's my thought process and two cents

I'd be interested if I knew more of what it all entails.

Here in Australia one of the most effective ways to promote something like this is through community radio. The xtians have been pushing their fairy tale fgor 30 years buying up whole stations for next to nothing. Our community radio unlike American is non profit. Sponsorship rates are very low and a significant proportion of the population listens each week particularly for local news. Your drawback is that whilst there is an umbrella union style organisation it cannot tell each station what to broadcast ie. Several hundred stations have to be individually contacted.

What sort of information are you getting on American radio? I am in range of about six public radio stations on the traditional airwaves and obviously many, many more via Internet. Are you saying there is no for profit radio in Australia?

@itsmedammit here it is called commercial radio when for profit. We also have, public radio funded by tax dollars. Community radio, until American evangelists were allowed in was primarily run by local communities for themselves mainly using volunteers.

@FrayedBear Sounds to me that community radio is the same as commercial, just with different owners and different funding. Or is there some other difference I'm not understanding?

@itsmedammit community radio has no advertising.

Why do we have so many "sheep" people who are afraid to question the existence of a God or challenge their Religious Leaders religious dogma? Why scare them into believing in a God that does not exist? Why is there this ridiculous thinking of a heaven or hell to reach salvation? Religion is just another drug! Lee Everett Scott P.S. If you could now think for yourself instead being like the same 80% who went to the same church all their lives (professing their God is the only way to heaven????) What does that tell you and this is the same way in thinking when it comes to politics too! Most people young and old vote or join the same political party their parents belonged too! If you substitute religion for politics ..... you will be surprised how close they are a like!!! Anything is fine with me but it would be disappointing if this site became to much like fb or a game app. Do not want to deal with trolls, scammers, endless ads, and so forth and so on. But if there is something that can help keep this site going with out a huge impact on what it is now works for me. I want this site to grow, but it would be nice if it grew in a nice peaceful healthy way.

@Admin Based on at least some of the comments here, it appears most didn't understand your idea. I did, and think it's a good idea to expand to other sites. I made a suggestion in a previous comment which got misunderstood, but you know what that story was about though. If you want to get the message out to other sites, you know the one I had suggested that I could help with. This site is growing fast and advertising on other sites is a good idea, to get the word out more.

Maybe it is just my rosey glasses but I have this vision of a community growing and thriving just because it is a good and necessary community and that people will spread the word because they want to share a good thing. The site seems to be growing, despite the relatively small Atheist/Agnostic/Freethinker population.

Where do you get your statistics from?

@FrayedBear Which statistics? Are you referring to the "relatively small Atheist/Agnostic/Freethinker population."?

@itsmedammit yes.

@FrayedBear Hardly a statistic. It's not like I said 10% of the population is Agnostic/Atheist/Freethinker. I think it is generally understood that there are many fewer people who admit to being nonbelievers than there are those who claim to be believers.

What is your point in challenging my post?

Considering this site is less than a year old, it has grown pretty darn fast. I'm not sur eyou need it.

If you do put up ads, I hope they are not intrusive.

No... I'm not talking about putting ads ON agnostic.com ... but just pay people to put up ads on other sites/etc.

@Admin I read the "NOTE" at the end of the post as that you woudl put up ads here to fund paying people to put up ads elsewhere. On re-reading it, it really is not really clear as to what you meant in the note at the end.
